Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months as the schedule is booked that far out. Once you pay the $265USD visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

If you are divorced you must submit the document that they are asking for. That is my take but it can be confusing to me because in the Philippines you have to get what is called a CENOMAR (certification of no marriage) to prove you have never been married. If you have been married and divorced then you will receive a CEMAR (certificate of marriage).  Here in your letter it states to get the divorce decree verification in the beginning of the letter then in the second half it speaks to "if you need it". So my question is what makes me "need it?" Because I was once married, or are they wanting me to prove that I am not married or is it something else as in I do have a final divorce and I am now free to marry. That's the confusing part to me.

Maybe others can chime in whether you need one. If you need one then follow the directions contained in the letter.

I have a library of P3's from each of the embassy's but that doesn't necessary mean I know everything about the process at those embassy's. That's why I refer you to ask others here in the thread for input. Good luck.

The clinic in Ikeja is by appointment call them to schedule your appointment. The one in Ikoyi only takes the first 24 people, so get there early.

Can someone please tell how to get the nigerian birth certificate. my fiance went to the npc and they told him he needs to get the anestation of birth. but at the visa interview they rejected it and wants the birth certificate. my fiance was born in 1990. What do we do now if nigeria refuse to give him the birth certificate?

Is anyone else confused with setting up the interview on the https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ website? We filled out the DS 160 form for non-immigrant visas, which is what the NVC told us to do, but on the site to book the appointment, it has the K1 vias listed as an immigrant vias and when my fiancee called, he was told that we need to fill out a DS 260 form... did anyone else has a similar problem?

Thanks for letting me know.

We've finally heard from them & got an RFE for omitting to tick a tiny box in part 3 of the form.

Responded immediately to the RFE & awaiting our approval asap by God's grace.

This happened to us too. Not even a week later, our petition was approved. We stressed too much over it so be sure you're not stressing lol

Last question for now: can someone else go to pay our application fee for us or does it have to be signed by the applicant? My fiancee isn't in Nigeria right now and he doesn't travel back for another 2 weeks but the earliest interview is Feb 3rd right now and we don't want the whole month to book up...
