I want to make sure we do everything perfectly especially since this new policy is taking affect. Could you guys just look over what we will be including and tell me if I need to add anything. Also, I've seen some people include their medical results and their police certificate. Is this necessary, would it hurt? Also can I just do one check for the amount of $1225 or does it have to be two separate checks? One for AOS fee and one for biometrics?

Our packet will include....

  • Cover Page
  • Check
  • Two passport style photos
  • G-1145 E Notification
  • Form i-485 Adjustment of Status through K1 Visa
  • Complete copy of passport
  • Copy of passport page with K1 Visa
  • K1 NOA1 Recipet
  • K1 NOA2 Notice of Approval
  • Copy of updated i-94
  • Copy of his birth certificate
  • Copy of marriage certificate
  • Picture of us on our wedding day (I know not necessary just wanted to add a little personal touch)
  • i-864 Affidavit  of Support (along with a letter from my bank, a letter from my employer, copy of my last 3 recent tax returns, last few pay stubs (maybe last 5?), and bank statements from a year).
  • i-765 Employment Authorization Document
  • i-131 Advance Parole permission to travel

Does that look good guys?

It can be only one check, I think that’s even preferred instead of 2.

Don’t forget to send out the tax transcripts at least for the last year you filed or statement that you didn’t have to file if that’s the case. We sent out last 3 years of tax transcripts and 6 months worth of paychecks and no letters from employer or bank since the income was enough and steady currently and throughout the last years.

We also made three different packages (one for aos, one for ead and one for ap), with their own pictures, copy of marriage certificate, birth certificate etc. It may be an overkill but we haven’t had any problems over all.

best of luck

edit: I saw that you included the transcripts, but it got past me when I read it at first

Did you send a copy of your medical results or is that necessary since his medical was done this May and we're sending this AOS petition mid August.

Do you have a copy of his ds3025? If it’s marked complete you just need to send a copy of that.

Oh, on these forms if something doesn't apply to us should we put n/a or leave it blank?

You need three different sets of everything. Like you can’t just send 2 pictures, it’s 2 pictures each. We just put a separate package for each form with all the necessary information. One cover letter for all 3. Don’t forget vaccinations form. That’s all the medical you need to send.

Ok so everything I send with AOS I need to also send with the EAD and AP? Like do I need to send a seperate affidavit of support and copy of tax returns etc with each one as well?

The I-864 is for aos only. I don’t remember the specifics but the pdf instructions from USCIS for each form lists each supporting evidence you need to send. I suggest you check them out.

Ok thanks, I just found a really good site.

It breaks things down a lot. I'm glad you told me this. I honestly though I just included the forms with the AOS packet itself.

Brittani, read the instructions that go with each form and it will say what should be included. This is important so get it straight from USCIS instructions so you don't miss any details.

Try this list  for organizing that has been posted in the UK Forum before https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FIsgnb7Tfj7tcRNnqRMKUOXQdEfR6HTUDY2vX6zKqqU/mobilebasic?authkey=CNXN_oQH

As great as sites like these are, they should not be your primary source of information. They could be outdated or missing something vital. I would honestly still look at the instructions pdf from USCIS.

I didn't see a checklist for them on the USCIS website. I may have overlooked it though.

It’s not a checklist. It’s an instructions pdf for each form. Search It. It’s there.

"K-1 Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) of U.S. Citizen or K-2 Dependent--(a)(6). File Form I-765 along with evidence of your admission (for example, copies of your Form I-94, passport, or other travel document) and your K visa. You are only authorized to work under this category during your 90 days in K-1 or K-2 status. You cannot renew this EAD. If you submit subsequent EAD applications, other than for replacement of a lost, stolen, or damaged card or a card that contains incorrect data, you must apply on a different basis. If you have a pending application for adjustment of status, you should file under category (c)(9)."

It took a minute but I FINALLY found it from the official site. Looks to be just two pp style photos, i-94, and K1 visa page and passport biographic page same as what @Wuozopo posted. Does that all sound pretty accurate? I really don't want them to RFE us or worse deny it. I don't want to include to much info for these two because they'll have pretty much everything with AOS.
