how accurate is the automated system??

I called the NVC this morning and it still says they did not receive it. I don't get it, dates that are later than mine were already forwarded to their respective embassies. Is the automated system always correct? is there by any chance they received our case already but wasn't able to update the system..? Oh and lastly, how will i know my nvc case number? thru calling the automated system again or nvc will just send us a mail..? Can be both? This waiting thing is soooo stressful!!!

Hi,

You should ccall again tomorrow during business hours, and speak with an operator personally. The automated system is great for some things, but in this case-do speak with someone. You will get more answers. Everyone I have spoken with at NVC has been very. very nice and helpful.

Almost forgot, use your USCIS case number for now.

Ours took about 2 weeks to get there from Vermont. I think they send over in bulk 1x a week.

The NVC case number will be on the DS-3032 upon receipt.

Give a phone for peace of mind.

I agree, you should phone. We thought the same thing, that our case should have been received at the NVC by now. Sam called this afternoon and it was mailed to the Vancouver consulate on the 21st! And we are still not in the automated system....

You need to speak to an operator for K visa's. Follow the prompts. Those applying for K visa to my knowledge will not be accessible on the automated system as they are not a NVC long enough. NVC's task with I-129F petitions is to assign a case number, do security checks and forward to consulate.

We're doing the same thing - cos I'm pretty sure that despite the autmated 'no record of..' they've received it and may have already forwarded it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that auto call center update is one of the LAST things on the to-do list at NVC - as they seem to be doing the work - just not putting the info into the computer for the call thingy.

There is a special option for K Visas. It connects you to an operator automatially, so that's what you wanna do.

I think it is option # 2 to choose if I recall right.

NVC automated systems are not updated for K visa cases. So, you must speak to an NVC operator to find out the case number.

I am sure, your case must have been transferred to your embassy by now.

YamSam - we did speak to a person today at NVC, not the automated system, and she could find no record of our petition as yet.

I think it must be there by now but we can only go by what we're told.

HI.. I called the nvc this morning and finally got to talk to an operator. Luckily, they told me that they received my case and that they will forward it to the embassy this week. He also gave me my new nvc case number since i have not received a hard copy from them yet. My question is, What is DS-3032 and will I get that with the nvc hard copy? What else should I expect from the NVC? How long did you get yours? Any reply
