My understanding and following NVC instructions they need a Police Certificate for each country you’ve resided for more than 6 months after the age of 16.

Maybe call again to hear what another representative says ?

I talked to couple of NVC customer service agents, and most of them would say the same thing. That it’s no longer needed if doesn’t reside there. Also I spoke with a NVC customer service rep, and he told me to go to document finder on travel.state.gov and look for the country.

ill post that link below

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html

i searched for Saudi Arabia. And scrolling down for police records etc, I found this. I’ll add the screenshot, below read EXCEPTIONS

Cause believe me I’ve been calling NVC a lot about this. I wait till I get a different NVC rep all the time to make sure because I don’t want last minute my father goes to his interview and they’ll be searching that.

also they told me to type a written statement and pretty much explain why my father doesn’t have the police clearance certificate for Saudi Arabia. And to add the printed attachment on document finder for exceptions for Saudi Arabia police records etc

i know that it clearly states the beneficiary will need a police clearance for the place stayed or lived at after the age of 16 for more than 6 months, but for that particular place my father has stayed at, it even says on travel.state.gov that police clearance is not needed if the third country nationals no longer resides in the kingdom. Honestly  it might be different for other applicants, it all depends where they have lived and that’s all I can say on my father’s behalf or about the situation.

and I have confirmed this with multiple NVC reps, and they agree with the explanation.

but please guys to make it easier for all of everyone going through the process to get their family or spouse a visa,  is to really read the fine lines, I think we just all need to relax Because not all cases are the same. I just wanted to explain this because I’m also going through this visa journey into bringing my parents here.

Oh that’s good then. If you called many times and looked up what it says in Travel.state then you’re good to go. I had to get 4 pcs myself ..Australia, Colombia, Italy, and New Zealand. Following instructions it’s pretty simple. and for New Zealand when you request it they send it directly to them and then Embassy, so I will never get to see it! It’s crazy how it’s different for all countries but even so, always but always write a letter to them explaining why it is not there with the rest of the documents!

lets hope they’ll give us back access to the portal tomorrow!

Hi, I have called NVC and asked if there is a way that I could pay AOS and IV besides paying online? They've told me I can do MONEY ORDER or THROUGH SENDING A CHECK. I would like to know if anyone of you did this? And did you go through doing the money order? I live in Guam and sending a check might take more time for it to be received, also, I don't know how long this will take to clear.

Thanks!

Im also on the same step, although Im waiting on the site to be back up in order to pay them instead of mailing them..still either way i think you won’t able to proceed to next step after paying fees if site is still down so it’s the same situation again. I’m in USA btw

Hi Everyone . I am not able to access the CEAC portal to print the confirmation page of DS 260 . My interview is on the 1st of august . Anyone passed through the same here ? Is there any work around . Appreciate your support .

Best thing is call Nvc and they can give you best answer. I think since this is not your fault so shouldn't be a problem. If you lucky they might open website today. Good luck

I was pocking around the ceac website and came across this page: https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Maintenance.aspx

There's a generic message about some users being able to access the site but not all users. Now please tamper your expectation. That link/message doesn't have any date. So maybe it's related to some outage from before or maybe it's related to current outage that started July  1, 2018. Just trying to post things that I learned for others to see.

Call the embassy of your interview ASAP. And if you can't get to them before your interview, I would still show up at the interview time and try to get in and explain the situation. I'd mention how I tried to contact the embassy beforehand to see what I needed to do. It's more than likely that they will reschedule your interview. If you can get that done without having to show up at the interview appointment, it would be better. Contact embassy of interview ASAP. You still got time.
