To all people asking about DS-260, you have to complete DS-260 first and after NVC review it, you can send in both AOS & IV package in one envelope. This is the instruction I was told from a service agent on phone when my case was at NVC.

I read contradicting information. Some threads in VJ have been discussing similiar issue. AOS & IV can be mailed to NVC anytime per an VJ member who called NVC to confirm.

VJ member was told not to wait to send both packages before DS 260. However, CO will not be able to review the packages until the DS260 fee has been paid and the IV application has been filles out and submitted.

So why wait? Send everything to NVC so thats gets scanned on the system and one less thing to worry about later. This way if documents are missing, they will request them and have everything in line waiting to be processed after fees are recieved & application submitted. :)

Isnt it different for Pivot cases though? I believe I have to upload all my documents on CEAC?

I believe the process is the same or similar.

You will need to pay AOS fee  first. Once it shows PAID, you may submit IV payment and wait until IV fee shows PAID before submitting DS260.

Once DS260 application has been submitted, you may submit supporting documents online.

I just need to upload supporting documentation at this point, but like everyone else saw the website was down. I just got off the phone with them. She couldn't tell me when the system would be back up, but that the techs were working on it. She couldn't give me any further information regarding the reason or a timeline. Also, I asked if I could just mail in the documents, but she said no, and I would have to wait until the website was back up and working. Guess we just have to wait :/

Don't you just love how they say, oh we are working on it and it will be up soon. Thanks for your patience. Patience, really!?. My patience has been finished 9 months ago! Fix the site!. The government is giving you a paycheck, which comes from our tax dollars. 8 days waiting is unacceptable. Do your jobs, and let's get with the program!. Sorry for my rant, but I'm getting fed up with this wait and see BS.

Will be interesting to see how it goes once the site is back up and everyone trying to upload at once...should make for a nice backlog and delays

It is definitely possible for a site like this to remain down for extended periods, assuming the contractors who built it are a smaller team. If there's only 5-10 people working on it, then only 1-2 of them are going to be senior or experts. There could be a problem that nobody can figure out how to fix for a few weeks. It has happened at my global, industry leading company a couple times. In software development, there's no way to cover all your bases in terms of subject knowledge so occasionally something will happen that nobody on your team has ever seen before and it can take a long time to sort out. I think another factor is probably funding. I doubt their team is authorized for overtime because of trump, so there are only so many hours in the day they can work on this

The guy i spoke to claims they have been working on it 24 hours a day and i was so pissed with the second guy i spoke with. i already bought a ticket to join my wife for the interview and now the money is going to the shithole of a country i live in cause they cant get things working right. I was told if the system doesnt work most interviews will be rescheduled cause the interviewer needs to see what is online to ask questions to confirm

I called nvc twice first was a kinder guy who sounded indian. Second guy was an ahole guy who i knew didnt want me to speak to a supervisor cause i told him off. But anyways both are just common 1st tier employees but doing more research i found for pivot people may have a chance to call the embassay location. The guy i called at the embassay hk was going to help me but they asked for my spouse passport number which i didnt have on hand at the moment. So i am going to try that on monday and see what they can do.For non pivot i am not sure what can be done.

But for me i needed the confirmation completed ds260 printed page. Which i think its a joke cause you cant get to the interview stage without completing the ds260.

American immigration system sucks i lived in other countries and this has to be the slowest process and dumbest. Now i can see why illegal immigrants do it the way they do cause that way is much faster than doing it the legal way.

Hi, so i applied for my husband last May his case got approved in February this year and i submitted all the documents in May/June/July bcz we had to wait for his police certification to arrive from the other two countries. I got an email on monday saying that they received everything and now we have to wait for the interview call. Does anyone know how long that takes and will the website being down effect my case in anyway? Please let me know! Thanks!
