Hi everyone,

I might have some insight into this. I just had my interview at the Brussels embassy today (pivot case, so everything uploaded on CEAC) and the officer apologised that it would take a bit long because I was their test subject since there's a brand new system that they've never used before.

So I think they're revamping the system.

That's good information. Hopefully the new system is more transparent and  the process is more responsive.

Just reporting back for other people. The message changed on teh site now. It used to be just:

Quote

The Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) Immigrant Visa web portal is currently unavailable due to maintenance.

And it changed to this:

The Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) Immigrant Visa web portal is currently unavailable due to maintenance.

During this time, IV applicants will be unable to access/login to the CEAC Immigrant Visa Agent (DS-261), Online Immigrant Visa Application (DS-260), or the Immigrant Visa Fee Payment portal.

We are working to restore access as soon as possible.

Over the last few hours.

Just called the NVC to get some clarification. They said that they're still hoping to get it up by the end of the week. The lady said that usually it doesnt take this long (Week+) and because it has they want to get it up ASAP.

Unfortunately still no proper time frame though.

Did also get my call answered very quickly by the NVC today, 2 min hold time!

So I have a concern, I’m just bummed out thinking that I let a precious time go to waste. After choosing an agent on July 15  I logged off and didn’t check back until a week after seeing how the welcome letter says to wait up to 3 weeks before continuing to next step. On the 24th I checked the case status on CEAC, and to my surprise it said to continue to next step which is paying affidavit of support fee.. I don’t know why but i was expecting an email from them telling me that I can go on to next step.. so now I’m wondering if i could have payed the fees right away after choosing an agent bypassing the 2-3 week wait and at least by the time the site was back and running I would be closer to finishing this whole process.. can someone please share some insight? Just want to get this out of my head..You guys have all been helpful, I’ve read all the comments and Im glad I’m not the only one experiencing this!

I wouldnt worry to much about lost time. The site went down quite soon after that so you've not missed the opportunity to pay beforehand. Unfortunately I cant help with the agent waiting time as I wasnt required to choose one.

I wouldnt stress yourself out about it though :)

as i know in my country  is not available electronic process it is mean that my case isn't pivot ....let assume that me case is not in pivot  system  what shoud I do ?   to pay aos fee and to wait to ''paid '' in page ?

You are not pivot but still have to pay fees, fill out ds-261/ds-260 forms online. First you fill out ds-261 form then pay fees online and wait until “paid” then complete ds-260 form then send your Aos/IV package to NVC by mail.
