I have a friend who regrets using lawyer. He said if he and his wife had it to do over, they would have never hired a lawyer because it ended up costing them 6 more months? Why? Because the lawyer kept messing up the paperwork and getting RFEs. He said the lawyer even wrote his spouse's name wrong on the I-130. It does make one wonder if the lawyer was incompetent or just trying to drain more money. There is no way I would hire lawyer at this point.  Just follow instructions closely and do a lot of research with VJ.

Did anyone see the 90 day financee where the lawyer told Nioole she could appeal a K1 denial?

and then told her to apply a K3

both were wrong answers

Spoiler! That episode didn't air yet in the country I'm in! :P It's ok, I forgive you.

If the lawyer fails us and my spouse is denied what negative impact will that have on the lawyer??

I found a different lawyer and he initially said he'd include some of the correspondence (chats, skype screenshots, etc) NOW he's saying he's only going to include pictures. He even said we can show chats during the interview. (That's up to the discretion of the CO, no guarantee they'll look at it)

My spouse, who does not know details of this process, insists to let the lawyer do his job. Because It looks good on paper to the embassy. Or so he thinks.

Lawyer fails, you lose.  Start all over again.

Sometimes we should blame ourselves but not the lawyers, why I said that?Lawyers preparing your petition for you and give you copies to looked over to see that the information that you gave are accurate before submitting your petition.Secondly the lawyer will tell you the documents are you going to need according to the USCIS guidelines, remember USCIS also write you tell you the documents you need to support your petition, but we should not forget that the lawyer has nothing to do with our representation of the evidence we provide. What evidence you have the lawyer will submit to the USCIS.Not too much evidence win the case, some people don't have enough evidence but they won, why?because USCIS checked the information that you gave them and they go with the evidence you provide. My little brother married December 2015 and petition for his wife April 2016 in Ghana, and now his wife is here with him. This is what he provide for evidence(1)pictures both and their parents, both and family members, both and friends(2)plane tickets in and out(3)receipts for money transfer U.S  and Ghana(4)post cards from U.S. to Ghana and (5)telephone calls U.S and Ghana.Only two questions that she said the C.O asked her,(1)where is your marriage certificate and(2) what time you married? And she answered that our marriage is a traditional and my husband said we are going to do wedding in U.S. so we will register in U.S. and she told the C .O the time they married and the C.O  said to her I see your evidence the time your husband send you and the time you cash your money, congratulations I approved you...go and call your husband.
