Honesty can go a long way. At the beginning of my relationship with my now-husband, a year before we decided to get engaged and apply for K1, i got a visitor's visa to go see him and his family in the States. I told the officer everything about how we met, our families etc, and he was kind enough to grant me the visa.

And like the poster above says, the only thing to lose is is money if your experience is different.

K1 is your best option.

Being on F1 means she's paying out-of-state tuition which is way much higher than the in-state one.

And as everybody has said, the relationship between you and the girl will surely be brought up. Good luck explaining that to the interviewers. Like "My USC fiancé will pay for my study and I will leave after the program". Sounds convincing eh?

Let's be honest, you just want to test if she's worth tying the knot with. Is that right?

We did a similar thing but the legit/legal way. I signed up for a year at a community college to see if our relationship was going to work out (we had been dating a year while I was on J1, but wanted to know how well we could live together). My parents helped me pay for some of my tuition. At the interview, I was honest and told them I would be living with my then boyfriend and I was asked if we were planning on getting married. I was honest and said we weren't planning anything. We successfully lived together for 1 year and then he proposed and we filed for a K1 visa

In this case though, what you are intending to do is fraud. She's coming over with the INTENT to stay and adjust status at the end of the year if you can deal with the adjustment of living together. You need to decide if you want to do the K1 or the CR1 but she needs to return to Vietnam.
