Hi all,

I am getting ready for the DS230. I had my wife sent me all the original documents I need for the DS230. Will the NVS accept copies of the documents or just the original copies? Because she will needs them the day of the interview.

Could you please tell me where could I find the last DS230 jam’s coversheet?

Thank you

You need to check out the DOS site to find out what they need you to send to them, it is all based on your embassy. If it says that you need to send documents such as birth, marriage and police certificates, they all need to be original or certified copies, not regular photocopies and TRANSLATED. Once you send them to NVC, you won't have to have them at the interview since the embassy will received them from NVC. If the instructions on the DS-230 say that you do not have to send the documents to NVC, then you do have to have them for the interview.

it appears that for YRV, ARMENIA you only have to send a photocopy of your wifes passport. the other documents have to be original or certified copies(with stamps and raised seals) of the original. she will take these to the interview. if you are getting certified copies, get at least 3 because things can get lost. the passport copy is the only item that can be photocopied and doesn't have to be certified. don't send the passport as some other people have. here is what the instructions say, but goto the above state dept link and read it yourself.

JK

Submit a photocopy of the biographic data page of the applicant’s and the applicant’s individual family members’ valid passports. This is the page that shows the applicant’s name and date and place of birth.

Note: Do NOT send the applicant’s passport(s) to the NVC, just the photocopy of the biographic data page.

DS230

Hi all I have a question regarding question 21a (Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will accompany you to the United States now). AND 21b (Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will follow you to the United States at a later date.

Just to make sure! My wife the beneficiary she the one who has to file the part 1 and 2 right? Means in question 14 the spouse will be me. I live in the united state why the question 21a or 21b mentioned (Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will accompany you to the United States now.)?

What I am supposed to write, my name?

thank you
