I flew to Montreal and stayed in a hotel for 6 days during my interview time.  The option for your fiance is to drive or fly to Surrey and stay overnight (or 2) as their results are ready 430pm PST next day.

The other two docs are slower at results.

Yes that's all that is available and has been for some time now.

Thank you for your input! We might just have him fly to Montreal and have his exam done a safe amount of days before his interview depending on what others experience were.

Like NikLR I flew to Montreal to do both the medical and interview. Just a heads up airfare might not be cheap. We stayed at an AirBnB for about 11 days. You could probably do it in less time but I didn't want to risk it. I was also traveling with a 5 year old.

Once you have your interview date you can call Medisys in Montreal and line up the last possible date. They won't schedule your medical until you know your interview date. The medical and consulate are both downtown so if you find a place to stay close by it's not too bad. We enjoyed our trip to Montreal despite it being February.

With only meeting once you may have to produce evidence of your relationship at the interview.

Thank you for letting me know your experience!

We are going to hopefully squeeze a visit in in middle/late September depending how the rest of the process goes (we are currently at 175 days on our NOA1). Then I might just rent a car (depending on how that situation goes) and drive to Montreal to be with him for his medical and the interview. Hopefully I can so we can celebrate our approval after.  I sent in lots of pictures from our first visit and LOTS of communication, plus more once he is at the interview. Reading the reviews relaxed me a bit, all the workers seem very nice!

There are a number of reviews for Medisys and the Consulate you can go through. I found those helped prepare me and ensure I had all the proper documents. I know it's very nerve wrecking and I don't think I slept 2 days before the interview! You will be so glad when it's over.

My motto was it is better to be over prepared then under prepared. Chances are you won't even need a fraction of the paperwork. But you don't want to be in a situation they ask for that one piece of paper and get the dreaded AP slip (administrative processing). It can really set you back weeks or even months.

The workers I found were very nice. I took a taxi downtown from Trudeau airport and didn't have a car. I was able to walk everywhere with my 5 year old. There is a subway system and I Ubered it in a few cases. There are a lot of nice little food courts in the tunnels underground. There is lots to do and Montreal is a beautiful city. Doing the medical was a bit of a gong show but I was glad to do it in one trip. I am so thankful NikLR suggested I do that.

Awesome! I'm glad to hear that yours went swell! I have found the reviews for the interview place, but I'm having trouble finding other peoples experiences that went to Medisys for the Medical. It's a bit annoying that they don't even have their own site with the medical information like the other options do.

If you don't mind me asking, how were the prices for the medical exam just for you? (My fiance is 26 and he is going to make sure he is up to date on all his shots before his medical).

I told my fiance the same thing about all the paperwork, rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. It's mainly all my ink and paper anyways, so I don't know why he's crying about it, haha!  :P

My personal review of Montreal Medisys is:

Some of the medical reviews are in the Canada forum if you go through the tabs. I was able to search reviews by searching Montreal Consulate reviews and some people add their medical review on there as well. I can't remember the individual price as I did mine with my son. I want to say $400-$500. But then I had to get my tetanus shot and my son needed a flu shot. One way to cut back costs is to make sure all the shots are up to date. You can do this by visiting your health unit or doctor. I brought a blood test for chicken pox as I didn't want to go through that immunization.

He will have to pee in a cup but my mistake was thinking I could go to the washroom anytime! As soon as I got to the office I asked to do the test but they claimed they had to have someone do it with me. So I wound up waiting with a full bladder for what felt like an eternity! Bring any prescriptions with you if he has any. The eye test was the worst as they make you do it without glasses (if you wear them).

One of the best pieces of advice was someone who suggested colored tabs with your documents. I had a plastic bag with my papers but to organize them I had sticky tabs. It made going through all of them a lot easier. When you go through the check list they will ask for things quickly. I know I was nervous and anything to make the process go smoother is great. I am sure it will go okay for you guys!

Oh, yes! I started slowly reading Montreal Consulate reviews and I actually read your review last night with my fiance on skype!  I was laughing at the undressing part - at your little funny comment about the guy, haha.

It's interesting because you bringing up chicken pox caught my eye. My fiance said he caught it when he was a child but there's nothing about it in his record because he was given medicine from the kids mom that he got the chicken poxs from... so I don't know how he's going to explain all that mess!

Thank you for the sorting advice. I actually bought colored tabs specifically to file the K-1 and now I have a bunch left over, so I'm going to have to remember to give them to him and set parts of it up for him when I get my parts together. I told him that they take his phone at the beginning so he couldn't text me while he waits and I know that is going to drive me nervous CRAZY! Hopefully I can attend with him so I'm a little less nervous, I'll be the one that's a nervous wreck! Haha.

I'm still not sure if I unintentionally gave that other fellow a peep show :jest:

Your husband can get a blood test to show whether he is immune to chicken pox. I did that as I got it as a baby and it was the only way I could prove I had it. The blood test was free and I followed up with my doctor to print off the results. Medisys seemed okay with that.

I was relieved I was the one who had the interview because I could only imagine if it were my spouse (organizing is not one of his skills). With both of you going together I am sure you will be just fine. The night before I found to be the worst. I started worrying about sleeping through my alarm. My son's appointment was 7:30am. However, the appointment times don't line up to when you actually go in.

The biggest thing to remember is no backpacks or large purses. They have a hole they put keys or a phone but that's about it. I wondered if any of the people from Visa Journey were at the interview. Nobody shared whether they were. I chuckled when I saw the Starbucks across the street everyone talks about. Another thing some people did not do was register their appointment/ register for courier services.
