Thank you for all your kind words!

She can't talk since she was in ICU up to now. She doesn't respond lately because of ammonia caused by her liver and kidney problems.

Yes, I call her even if she's not awake. I let my 2 children to sing for her. She loves my kids dearly because she's been there since they were born. We sent video messages from our extended family (really close ones) and her friends. My sister plays it to her.

We are really expecting that I will be there because there are certain decisions to make. And also, I'm the one in charge of my parents here in the Philippines. So if God's will that my mom can come home, I should know her condition and medical needs.

My siblings and I have our own families. We are all married and have kids. I am not for a petition, I thought we can always visit each other. Unfortunately, my visa was denied.

I feel trapped and helpless. I keep on searching the internet for some things that might help my case. I already emailed the embassy 3 times and there is not much help. I can re apply and had this note "Quick re-applications based largely on the hope finding a consul more inclined to issue may result in a second refusal. " :(

I used to work in the Insurance Industry and the first thing an Insurer would want to do is repatriate, sounds like she is unable to travel, even by Air Ambulance which does not sound good.

It's unlikely you will get a tourist visa. What did the hospital letter say?

The hospital letter was stating my mom's condition. Also asking for help so I can be with my family during this difficult times. And pertaining to my mom's health, me and my siblings will have some planning and decisions to make.

I can't believe that there are people who are heartless.

You may be able to try for humanitarian parole instead of a visa. This is basically a long shot and rarely issued, but it's something at least.

I searched for that also. But says 90-120 days before it gets approval. It's case to case basis and also not an assurance you'll get approval. It costs $360.

I am going to call the embassy and ask about it.

Thank you!

I am very sorry for your mother's illness and for the denial of the B2 visa.  I think @Ontarkie said it well.  Good luck in the future.

It sounds like you did not purchase medevac insurance.

Not farmiliar with how things work in PI but that would usually be catered for as part of a standard Travel Insurance package. - Emergency Repatriation. But of course needs a sign off that she can be moved.

Does anyone except the army do CRRT inflight?

If it was possible and I am not up to date then the Insurer would have the right contacts to organise it.

Thank you for all your responses.

Regarding insurance, I know my siblings took care of it before she visits them and has been taking care of all the things my mom needs.

I will try to re apply because the last time I checked, they have an early schedule. But i have no additional documents to present except the new hospital letter.

Pls pray for my mom and include me that I may have the chance to see her. Hope the consul will be more considerate.

I will pray for your mom and you and your family: this is clearly a difficult time for you all.

BUT, its not the consulate who needs to be more considerate.  Your compatriots have - in the past - acquired tourists visas and then miraculously found ways to overstay and remain in the US.  They are the reason why it's so difficult for you to acquire a visa now: it sucks for honest people like you and I'm sorry that those people make it so difficult for others.

Hi everyone!

I got my visa approved today! The consul was very kind and asked me questions that helped him to decide if i am really telling the truth. The application form with the EXPLAINATION portion helped a lot because he asked me also about it.

Hope I am not too late to see my mom. She is very ill. The doctors already told us that she has little chance to survive. And he even told us that due to all her complications, we are just prolonging her sufferings. I think she is just waiting for me before she say goodbye :(

I'm glad you finally got your visa. Having family pass away in another country is tough and I hope you make it there in time. If not I hope you've had a chance to say goodbye over the phone, skype etc. That was really comforting to me when I didn't quite make it home when my dad passed but I had already said goodbye to him over the phone just a few days earlier.
