Hello everyone,

knowing how long CSC is and eventually the NVC, I want to be as prepared as possible when I receive my approval and need to send back all the docs for DS-230. I understand that the applicant needs to supply police clearances from countries in which they lived in for more than twelve months. Since I lived in England for 18 months I will need to supply NVC with a police clearance, however, from what I understand, the clearance is only valid for 40 days from the date it is issued (I could be wrong here). If anybody has any knowledge or advice when I should order my police clearance or know how long it takes for it to arrive, it would be extremely helpful. :help:

Im not too sure if it is different for your country but in the UK you have to provide one for anywhere you have lived for 6months or more.. So I guess the question is.. has she worked there for longer than 6 months..

Please note: This is my understanding of the requirement for the UK, this may be different for your country

One is required to obtain police certificates for the following........

*Is living in their country of nationality at their current residence for more then 6 months

*Lived in a different part of their country on nationality for more then 6 months

*Lived in a different country for more then 12 months

*Was arrested for any reason no matter how long they lived there

The police certificate must:

• Cover the entire period of the applicant’s residence in that area,

For the Philippines specifically, there is only 1 police clearance needed called NBI clearance. When I first read the above (#2) on the embassy website (I think), I panicked thinking my wife would have to travel to the other city that she lived in while going to school to get this clearance.
