Now a very good case for conflicting views. My answer was drawn from someone else who about six months fell victim to eat scheduling. So @DanielPlainview it's your turn yo roll the dice. Curious what his experience will be.

My perspective is this.........there is not much they can do with Packet 3 ahead of receiving the case from the NVC, and the overwhelming opinion here is to send upon "ready" status.   Your post above says I can send at "received" status.  ( I've yet to determine if applications go from "in transit" to "received" to "ready" or if they go from "in transit" to "ready". )

So with BigWill's post combined with your post, I feel confident that I'm good to go as soon as it shows either "received" or "ready".    In fact, I'm also considering using the DHL hack, and sending it the day after DHL says it will be there.   I'm using same day service to Embassy.

What is "eat scheduling" ?   Guessing it means they return Packet 3?

What is the best way to send in Packet 3 to the Embassy? Where we are at we have Thai Post and Kerry Express. I'm not sure if it would be quicker for one or the other.

We used Thai post.  the embassy as well.

I'm a little late to the party here, but agree on the Thai Post.   Send it EMS service.   Typically that will arrive the following day if you're close to Bangkok.   If you send it before 11am from within Bangkok, we were informed it arrives the same day.   Personally, I don't like having that confidential information bouncing around post offices so I want it as quick as possible.  We are mailing it from the Rong Meang post office.   Other post offices must route it through Rong Meang to get to the embassy.   So from Rong Meang, it's a direct shot to the embassy.   In fact, our case just made it to Bkk today, so Packet 3 goes on Monday.

Hi all,

I have received the email with instruction for packet 3 but am a little confused as it is not clear which documents to submit. The packet 3 instructions I received are dated March 2018 and found here https://th.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/iv-packet-3-instruction-mar2018-english.pdf

So I am confused about which forms you actually submit to the embassy as "packet 3" and which ones you bring to the interview. I feel like the instructions contradict themselves.

First it says "Prepare the necessary forms and documents that pertain to you on the following checklist. Make sure to bring the original/certified copy of all the documents with you to submit at your visa interview." Which makes me think I do not submit any forms.

Then it says "SUBMIT PHOTOCOPIES ONLY OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS Photocopies should be black-and-white photocopies. The original/certified copies must be presented at the interview" and lists associated documents

Then "SUBMIT ORIGINALS OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS You are encouraged to retain photocopies of these documents." and lists associated documents.

And lastly ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS BELOW MUST BE PRESENTED AT THE INTERVIEW These do not need to be mailed to the IV unit at this stage, however we strongly recommend gathering this information in anticipation of your interview.  Which makes me think I submit all the forms listed except these.

So what do I submit as packet 3 to the embassy?

Do I submit all the documents listed under the SUBMIT PHOTOCOPIES ONLY OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS checklist and SUBMIT ORIGINALS OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS You are encouraged to retain photocopies of these documents. OR do I just submit the DS160 form and bring all these documents to the interview?

Thank you,

Ryan

What did you ultimately send, and did it all work out okay?

Hi! I'm finally mailing our packet 3 tomorrow and I just followed the checklist of which photocopies and originals to submit. Praying and keeping my fingers crossed that everything is ok and we will get the interview schedule for May.

I've been tracking timelines and it seems like wait time is slowly becoming less. If you send it tomorrow I wouldn't be surprise if you got an interview sometime around the 15th. We sent our P3 last week and it took 3 days to get an interview date that's 15 days out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well. Journey is almost over.

Btw, how easy and fast is it to schedule the medical with Bumrungrad? And how long did it take you to get your result? Thanks!

I understand they are scheduling interviews pretty quickly. Those instruction for the P3 threw me for a loop. They seem contradictory in many ways, but with that said, I'm probably reading too much into it, and should just chill.

Please keep us posted on how it goes. I'm very curious about the interview. I'll be submitting my P3 around May 10, once I get the divorce decree from 1978, lol. Should arrive her on the 9th.
