Why not though? Easy cash. How much are they paying these days? $10,000? $20,000?

My dad was offered $10K whether the marriage lasted or not. As I said, he declined on moral and legal reasoning.

I don't understand why American citizens participate in things like this. Seriously. If you need the money that badly, do a medical study or something. If the Bulgarian person had enough money to make it worth your while, they wouldn't need to be immigrating to the US.

i've met quite a few people who have married for this reason and were paid money. (or were offered money for a visa but turned it down). especially here in nyc! the going rate seems to be $10,000. i can't imagine why anyone would do that. not only is it illegal but $10,000 really isn't that much to risk something so stupid!
