Hello

Yesterday my father received 2 interview notice which says re-interview reading, writing or speaking English. Re-interview naturalization in chicago office.  I am not sure what they will ask.

Can some please share your experience.

He he had his 1st interview two months  ago as per officer he pass the exam and didn’t give any paper work saying he passed or failed and my father also don’t remember which area they failed him. As per him he answer all civic question properly. He also saying some thing regarding Adam street some thing which my father wasn’t sure what to say.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean your father wasn't sure what to say?

Was the IO trying to verify during the interview if your father ever lived on that street, and your father didn't respond yes or no?  What was the question asked?

Odd also that your dad didn't receive the N 652 form which is handed out at the end of the interview.  Perhaps it's something as simple as your dad didn't pass the civics/reading/writing test (and thought he did).

(Only one other thing comes to mind when I hear the word/name "Adam" as it pertains to USCIS.....but doubt it's that)

What he remember is that he need to change his last name so he was saying to go to Adam street. Which also doesn’t ring any bell why he will say this. My father don’t remember actual word but he told me he didn’t know about question and from where he was referring too. In application we didn’t mention any thing relates to Adams.

Yes, IO also said yes you pass verbally but didn’t hand out any thing. So not sure which area he refer to that he is pass.

How is his English (reading, writing, speaking)?  It's not common to have a 2nd interview, but it does happen...usually if the applicant wasn't proficient enough in English to the IO's satisfaction (reading, writing and speaking), or fails the civics test (which you say he passed).

Looks like it is the reading and comprehension of English that is being retested. The IO probably thought your Dad’s answers or lack of them to certain questions were inappropriate. If his conversational everyday English is good then there should be no problem. Is it?
