I have a question my petition is already at the embassy in Argentina for the k1 visa we haven’t started the process of the embassy yet but she’s wants to come here to see my home town and everything and where we are going to live before she starts the process  is it to late to to a tourist visa?

it would probably be hard to get. they would be concerned that she wouldnt go BACK  to her Country.

 

its possible of course, but i wouldnt count on it.

10/14/21 (havent heard anything... when do i start to get worried?)

9/15/22 APPROVED! Now to wait for NVC and interview....

Even if she succeeded in getting a tourist visa, the chance of a border officer allowing her to enter the US would be very slim, imo......

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

it is at the embassy for interview?/

 

she can use the visa to see your home town  if approved but 1 time entry

If you already have approval (NOA2) and case is at the embassy( Can't tell till you update your timeline) You can't be more than 4-6 weeks from visa in hand. Why would you fly her here for a few weeks, then back for an interview, then back here a few weeks later to enter on her K1? I mean, unless you got some serious frequent flyer points you need to burn. At this stage in the game you could probably have the K1 visa in hand before the tourist visa.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? Not at all.

A tourist visa requires showing non-immigrant intent. A pending petition for a visa in which you will subsequently apply for permanent residence seems to be counter to an argument that you intend to return home. Very, very few COs would risk it IMO. Just wait it out.

Note that this is different than visiting using an existing visa (or ESTA/visaless/etc.) to visit...they tend to not be as strict there.

She can apply for a tourist visa but doesn’t mean she will get it and IMO having a pending k1 wouldn’t be in her favor
