Document translation

Good evening everyone,

 

i need to translate few documents for my interview because my birth certificate is in French.

 

any place you could suggest ?

apparently it has to be a certified one 😅

Certified does not mean a paid professional translation service. 

 

For example if I needed a document translated where I live, I would ask the French teacher at the local high school to help me out.  She has to "certify" (promise, assure) in writing that she is fluent in both English and French, that she is competent to translate, and that the translation of the document is accurate.  USCIS used to have a sample statement on their website that went something like--

I Marie Jones certify that I am fluent in..... and the above translation is accurate. (what I said above.) Then sign and type name/address. 

 

It must be every word on the document...headers, footers, titles, main body.

 

So do you know anybody near you fluent in French besides yourself?

I do have my best friend who is fluent in both languages. I don’t know why it sounded to me as it was supposed to be translated by an actual company specialized in translation.

ASAP Translate online. You email the the paper work they will translate it and it will be certified. youll have it back in 48 hours. they will email you a copy and mail you the original.

I think the word "certified" makes it sound all official like certified marriage license and birth certificate issued by government agencies.   But I have read of a few who had a fiend do it. And the USCIS website had a whole page on it at one time but I don't have the bookmark anymore.

They make it sound like a big deal🤔 

well I’m glad I won’t have to pay for that😅
