So husband went down to Mexico his embassy appointment was for 5-22 and May 8th for his medical exam . when he got his xrays back they found spots on his lungs and advised that he would need to return for a spetum test and that that would take 10 weeks to come back they must being growing a culture because I don't understand why it is taking so long so Friday is when they told him to call .

I am worried I don't know what is to happen next I still show his appointment in the computer as it was not cancelled  they told me in the medical office that as soon as he is cleared he can go to Ciudad Juarez for his interview he left to Mexico on April 24th and I have been struggling without him. Please pray for us that he can come home soon as if he does test positive for TB the treatment is 9 months antibiotics and I am not sure they let him travel and just take the medicine here . Has anyone ran into this issue?

If he tests positive for TB, I Do not think they will let him in the Country until after his treatment and with documented proof he is in full remission.

This has happened before. You can check the Philippines section as there are people who experienced this type of issue. If there is any trace of TB then he will not be let into the US until he finishes treatment. This is a health and safety issue. There is no way around it.

It will take time but patience is key. Have a back up plan in case things take a bad turn.

Thanks Everyone I just called the Medical place and they said he is fine and that they will send the green light to the embassy and to call her back on Thursday to make sure the notice was sent then I can reschedule his appointment at the embassy . Now praying that it does not take long for the new appointment as his medical exam will expire in 3 weeks . So if he can pass his interview which seems to be pretty easy I hope to have him home at least by the second week of August. He has been in Mexico since April 24th .

  • 4 weeks later...

Craziness he had his interview on 7-31 and they gave him the approved paper and told him to wait 5-10 days for his visa and to go check the website to find out when it will be here . I checked on 8-3 and it said it was ISSUED  status  and that it was printed and on the way to the dhl office he chose . Then on 8-6 I check again and this time it say REFUSED  and to refer to the paper he was given at the embassy (which makes no sence as his paper shows approved) Then I go back yesterday 8-9 and now it says TRANSFER IN PROGRESS  your case is being transferred to another US embassy check back later .

So at this point I hope that is good news I wonder how much longer this is going to take he has been in Mexico now since 4-24 almost 4 months ...
