Ok so here we are now.  Our file is at the Morocco Embassy.  I was told that once NVC status said READY to start emailing the embassy about a interview date.  Now keep in mind I have already filled out the DS160.  I have emailed the embassy twice and each time I got a generic response.  I see other people getting their dates right away, it must be something I am doing wrong.  Please tell me how or what I should do to get my interview date.

Also need to know what else to do from here

Thanks

It took us 5 weeks of mailing 2-3 times a week before we got an interview date for our K1. I would just be persistent with your emailing - mention your NOA2 expiration date, your names/birthdates etc. You will get one sooner or later.

Like mentioned above, it can take a few weeks for the consulate to respond. There have been some instances recently where they responded within a few days, or even on the same day, but that is not very common. I'd give them 1-3 weeks.

Ok thank you.  So I dont need to send any documents to the ebassy?  He will be taking them with him on interview day.

Also need to register on traveldocs, but when I look up the immigrant visa it does not list K1 visa.  This site is annoying to me.  How is one supposed to register their name for their visa on Aramex as well.

Somebody shoot me

He will bring everything to the consulate on the day of the interview.

And the CO will provide him with instructions on registering for Aramex and US travel docs. You'll actually pick the CR1 option on traveldocs because as you noticed, there is no K1 option. They will tell him this if he is approved at the interview.

The casablanca embassy drags their feet BIG TIME! It takes several emails to them before they respond to anything. As far as traveldocs you dont need to register at this time. If he gets approved they will give him the Aramex information to complete. Good Luck to you both!

We are so ready for this.  He knows everything about my life, my family, my everything and vice versa.  He is very confident as he should be and I am sure he will do well at the interview.  Its the CO I am worried about.

I guess I am just worried about getting all the paperwork done online, but Im just going to wait and see

The Casablanca consulate doesn't seem to be using the online appointment system yet. Did you get any available dates when you put in the code under the barcode on the DS-160 confirmation page? In the past the consulate calendar has always shown 'no available dates' to choose from. Emailing them directly is still the best (and from what I know, the only) way to make the interview appointment. I'd be happy to see this change though.

No I haven't cause I was skeptical about putting it cause I'm not sure about the niv vs IV part cause when you check your ceac status it shows up as immigrant visa where as when I filled out my papers it showed as non immigrant. This is why its all so confusing. The website contradicts itself in so many ways

That's because the K1 visa is basically a hybrid of both. It is a non-immigrant visa, with immigrant intent.

K1 visas are always handled by the immigrant sections at the embassy/consulate level, but unlike other immigrant visas, the beneficiary does not receive a green card upon arrival in the USA. There are additional requirements that need to be met after arriving in the US before the person actually "becomes an immigrant" (receives a green card).
