Hi I need your advice on this.

I have completed my DV interview on the 18 of june. Though I was informed at the interview that everything is OK but needed my visa medicals for final issue of visa. So on the 28 of the same month I completed my visa medicals with no complications.

Now, I checked my visa status and it stated my application is undergoing necessary administrativery processing.

I emailed the embassy to make enquiries and this was the reponds:

"We are still pending your medicals exams.

In order for us to issue a visa we will need a valid medical from visa medicals".

I kindly want to find out if this means my medical report has not been sent to the embassy by visa medicals  or my medicals report is not considered valid or my application is still in process?

Why didn’t you do the medical before the interview?!

anyway if there was something wrong with the medical outcome you would have been refused. So either they don’t have it yet or the report is somewhere in the embassy waiting for a CO to review it. You can contact the doctor to check if it was sent.

It would certainly have been a lot less stressful if you had had this all sorted out before the interview... (you’re lucky they allowed you in, some consulates don’t let you attend your scheduled interview without the medical.) anyway hopefully you can get what you need soon. If I were you I would not delay at all, hopefully you have or can easily get the UK report. Good luck.

@SusieQQQ it seems I am a lucky guy yeh. I just received this email form visa medicals after following up on their email:

Dear Paul,

Medical has been checked by Dr. Clarke and will go to the US Embassy within the next 48 hrs.

Best of luck with the whole process.

Kind regards,

I received bad news on my case today. What does this mean? 😢

The Congressionally-mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes available up to 55,000 diversity visas (DV) each year, drawn from random selection among all entries, to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.

The Department of State in Washington informed U.S. consular sections worldwide to halt processing DV cases whose initial appointment was scheduled prior to July 2018 .

We regret at this moment we are unable to continue processing of your DV 2018 application, however in September 2018 please check the visa bulletin(https://travel.state.gov/contel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin.html) for information regarding DV visa number availability. Visa application and associated fees cannot be refunded.  In September 2018 we will review all DV 2018 case files and return passports and original civil documents through the courier service.

Selectees for DV 2018 who did not receive a visa may enroll again for the DV 2020 program in the fall of 2018.

Regards,

Immigrant Visa Unit

it sounds like they’re running out of visas ...but that doesn’t make sense with what I know of the visas issued so far... maybe there’s been a big bump that I haven’t seen yet

why this would affect you though is - if you do not complete the process by the end of the month you are scheduled in, your visa number is given back to KCC and reassigned. (This is so that visa numbers don’t get reserved forever for someone who possibly won’t come back and complete the requirements.) Then when your case is completed, if it is after your original month - which in your case was June - the embassy has to request a new visa number from kcc. This seems to be where the issue is - that they requested a new number and were not able to be allocated one.
