How long did you guys get the visa/passport after interview approved?

I asked this question a few days back with no response. The CO told my fiancé 2-3 weeks is the standard response however can be 7-10 days. Hope that helps.

Wow! Ok wasn’t trying to give false hope to anyone or to make people think they didn’t have to worry. I was previously married and actually went thru the CR1 process back in 2003, in a different country than Pakistan it was also a Muslim country and my experience with that was completely different than this one so I do understand the worry and anxiety and fear that this entire process causes.

What i I was trying to convey and apparently my words were not clear, is that get your stuff in order, anything and everything, every little detail even what you think (for instance your husbands ex wife’s card not being updated that they were no longer married, that is a red flag) I guess my prior experience helped me to not be so worried as the first time.

Good luck to all may aklah SWT join us with our loved ones soon AMEENSUMAMEEN

This has been a huge learning experience.   In Balocistan they are notorious for not updated their documents lots of citizens don't even register their births or marriages.  It's been a huge learning curve but also a painful process.  InshallAllah this interview will be successful!

Completely not true!

Its very rare that a k-1 visa with that age difference is approved on the first try in Pakistan.  Many are mocked and placed in AP or returned for not enough evidence of bonafide relationship.   It depends on what evidence you had to overcome the age difference coupled with the CO you had conduct the interview AND if there was anything that alarmed them.

My husbands case was returned because his ex wife did not update her CNIC card.   They saw that and then had no interest in anything else.  The fact that I'm with my husband every 5 to 6 months...the many communication detail provided was overlooked.  They didn't care about the genuine care of each other the future hopes and dreams mentioned many times in chats.  They were completely blind sided by his prior marriage.

Its true that you can't worry about it only Allah knows the outcome...but don't give false hope that the differences won't matter because they very well could.  Or they can walk out with an approval with no problem.   Hope for the best and prepare for the worse.

I am completely shocked.. How could anyone force or tell someone else to update their CNIC or any other document? All one could do is to make sure that his/her stuff is in order. I can't believe that the embassy refused your case based on ex-spouse not updating the document.

That also makes me wonder that Pakistan is sharing their citizens CNIC data with the US embassy...

Yes..   Unfortunately when dealing with this embassy you need to go over and beyond what is required.   We supplied all required documents at USCIS, NVC and brought originals to the interview.  Good news it was easy to rebut when our case was returned but an unnecessary pain to have to endure.

kudos for your patience and staying strong. But I feel like there should be some sort of accountability for CO/embassy for putting people through such a misery.

This makes me laugh. I am 41(female white US citizen) and my fiancé is 27 Pakistani male. The CO who interviewed my fiancé never once asked him if he was concerned about our age difference nor was she alarmed by it. Age is just a number and when it’s a real relationship and you can see and hear the love the person as for the other these “differences” won’t matter at all!

Good luck to you. May Allah SWT help you worry less

I agree with you :) just cant wait for the next step ..

You know Allah SWT always has a plan and there is always a reason for everything. We don't see it, understand it and sometimes its a very long time before we realize...subhanAllah HE is the best..right????? praying for  you that this time is the absolute RIGHT time for you both...isn't the interview soon????? I thought I read somewhere you were flying over there and going with him. I can not wait to see your post that you all are approved inshaAllah.

We filed a formal complaint about the embassy, but not sure if it makes any difference. We had to start over and are hoping for another interview. We won't give up, even though we have been fighting for almost 3 years, known each other for 7.5. This embassy must be held accountable for the way it treats people and breaks all of the rules of conduct for co's, according to their own specific standards of treating people with respect and not using intimidation and terror tactics. If everyone who goes through the hell they create would file a complaint, it would help, but people are afraid. That's what they depend on.
