Just to give you guys an update. My wife is now in US. She came alone since I didn't had many vacation days left.

I booked her flight through Etihad so that she does not has go through security in US. No issues, all immigration and customs was done at abu dhabi airport and your luggage comes in at domestic transfer belt in the states. It saves a lot of time when you land in USA.

Congratulations. 

I heard about the immigration in Abu Dhabi but was skeptical about it. I thought it would be worse than the US airport.  

Although I am US Citizen, I always have to go through secondary inspection. If this happens in Abu Dhabi with someone, they may miss their flight. Just a thought.

I am us citizen too , whenever I scan my passport it prints out with a cross and I always have to go the questioning desk.

 

but layover at abu dhabi is usually 3 hours . More than enough time. I can safely say the staff at abu dhabi is much better than Chicago, don't know about other airports .

Once I booked a flight for my aunt and her daughter and due to the security check they missed the next the flight but the AA airline provided a hotel along with next day flight without any charges. Visa type (B1/B2).

Where did she fly in to the US???  Also how long did your wife wait to get visa??? Our interview was 10/2/18 and was approved now just waiting for passport !

Where do you fly in then to the states. Was going to have my fiancé land in Chicago, but he lives in Abu Dhabi  for 4 years and is very familiar with AD airport so would love to go there and I am familiar with Chicago hahahahaHahahaha
