Tax transcripts for N400

Hello,

 

Today I was going through all the documents I have and making sure that I am set for the interview. Recently I have ordered my tax transcripts from IRS 15 days ago. Unfortunately I found out that tax transcripts requested from IRS for the year 2012 and 2013 tax information is missing. Inside the envelope it says "Tax return transcripts are only available for the current and three prior processing years. If the transcript you are requesting is for an older year a return transcript is no longer available. Account transcripts are available for older years and may provide the information you need". What should I do now? please help me.

 

FYI... I was only able to request 2014,2015,2016,2017 tax transcripts from IRS Website. As I couldn't see 2012 and 2013 years tax transcript on website, I called IRS and requested them.

i guess only way to call IRS back and inform them you didn't get those two years .

Certainly try to get them just in case but if you don’t have any luck getting them, I don’t think you need to fret too much. I had the same issue of not being able to get the 5th year transcript and brought the 4 to the interview and would have explained if he asked for them but he never asked for any of the transcripts I brought. I think they’re most important for 3-year rule filing to help prove bonafide marriage and if you’ve been out of the country a lot to help prove you haven’t abandoned your residency.
