Hi All,

This is my first post but have used this forum extensively for assisting with us filling out the I-129f form etc.

The current I-129f we downloaded from the UCIS website has an expiration date of 8/31/2018, we're likely to be sending our package off early to mid August. By the time they first pick up our case its likely the form expiry date would have passed but would've been valid when we sent it and when they initially receive it.

We don't really want to wait another 2-3 weeks just to wait for an updated form but if its between that and having our application sent back and having to re-do it all on the new form we'd take the hit and wait for the new form.

Has anyone got any experience with this or know their policy?

Thanks in advance

When you mail your packet in and it is received by USCIS, they are mandated to at least upload every document and create a case number for your file. Once uploaded to their database, if the expiration date has not been passed then you should be fine.

Aim for mailing it out at the beginning of August.

the expiry date in the top right hand corner is and internal government OMB dept date and is not relavant to the public using the form.

The date at the bottom is the edition date and is the current form.

They also do, in many cases, continue to accept forms with expired dates if they have not issued a new one.

You should file a form which is valid and accepted on a date of filing.

The clue here is when you send it not when day pick it up.

Obviously, you should check out the USCIS site before filing and make sure which form edition is accepted at current time.
