Is this a SCAM?

I logged into the new website, and saw that my K-1 was approved.  I immediately fell out of my chair.  It said the approval date was 07/13/2018.  There was no update on the old web site though, and I have not received the physical approval notice.  My question is WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?

Call USCIS and validate the info. Phone in my signature.

You're over the 7 months processing time by your timeline so NOA2 is possible. They should send you a hard copy of the approval in the mail.

 

Also, it's not the K-1 that is approved, it's the I-129f petition that would be approved. It would then goto NVC to then get transfered to the embassy in the country of your fiance.

 

The embassy is the one who approves and issues the K-1 visa after completion of the medical and interview and supplying all documentation needed.

What you need to do now:

- take a deep breath

- congratulate yourself

- call your fiancé and cry like a little baby

- get your butt over to the July NVC thread:

Congratulations by the way

Do not call USCIS to validate. The didn't accidentally mark your case approved and they get enough useless call clogging the phone lines as it. Wait 10 days to 2 weeks and call the NVC to see if they have received you case. Normal advice is wait 2 weeks but mine was there in 10 days.

What’s the best numbers to call NVC?  Thanks in advance!

I think I am still in disbief because of the agony of waiting.  And I didn’t know about the new website until someone mentioned it on here.  You will experience the same thing when your NOA2 is approved!  :-)

You will need your USCIS case number name and birthdate of the beneficiary I believe. Just tell them you are calling to get your case number. Then check your countries portal to get an idea of how to proceed.
