Green card mailed while abroad

Has anyone been abroad when their ten year green card got issued and mailed to their home in America? Can you travel home on the stamp if your green card is issued? Is the stamp still valid after the green card is issued? Not being home, we don't have possession of the green card. Thank you.

Hi, I travelled back from Europe, with the stamp, after my 10 year GC had been issued and mailed to my address in the US. No problem besides having to reassure the check-in agent that the stamp is an equivalent of a GC. Hope that helps!!
