I think many people forget that everyone has their own way of dealing with things.  Just because some people can wait for almost 2 years and have no issue with it doesn't mean the next person can do the same.  This forum I thought was to gain immigration info as well as getting support from people who are in the same boat.   I said rude and lacking compassion because I saw many people acting as if the OP shouldn't have complained that her visa was taking so long and then acting as if they were blaming Trump for the long process.  The OP merely asked a simple question.  Also, for the record I am not saying everyone on this thread is rude or lacking compassion, just a few that I saw. :D

Right. The posts on here to the effect of; "some people wait way longer than 5-7 months; I waited 2 years, you have nothing to stress about yet; we breezed through the first part of the application stage, I don't get why everyone else can't too." Etc are dissapointing. We've all either been through or are going through this process so we could all stand to show a bit more empathy. Also don't forget varying factors make things easier or harder for each of us; we all have varying time differences between our US partners, some of us might see them every 2 months, some might have to wait way longer than that. As a personal example I have anxiety and this makes this process extremely difficult for me some days. Our situations are all relative. Maybe the OP was just having a bad day and needed support :)

Well consider this also....

we all come from varying backgrounds, some of us (me) are very direct in what we say. Now some people will understand but other may perceive what we say as being rude or lacking empathy. This is not true it is just how we speak and communicate.

This is a problem with messages on a board, sms messages and emails, a person can read the words being said, and cannot get the feelings trying to be coveyed. I personally did not see anyone being rude, I read the thread as people giving valid explinations that could cause the delays and explaining that there are other members that was have to endure a much longer wait.

it is all in how a person reads it.

just my 2 cents on it.....

It's really taking so long... I am still waiting for an interview tobe schedules. The embassy told me there are to many applications and it is likely to schedule my interview after early September. This is really too long....
