Sharing our experience of the AOS interview today. Our interview was scheduled at 11am and we got called into the interview room at around 11.30am, which is not too bad as we were prepared to wait. The interviewing officer was quite friendly and seemed pleased with our answers. She first spent time verifying my answers on the form I-485, then asked questions about our relationship while taking notes of our answers. She didn't make it overly formal, but encouraged us to both share. When it came to supporting evidence for our marriage, she asked for the lease, utility bills, insurance evidence, then asked if we had anything else to give her. We offered photos but she didn't even want any, saying we already had loads on the file (these were from the K1 visa though lol). She then said she believed our relationship is bona fide marriage, and described the next steps (final review of the docs, card production, removal of conditions in 2 years etc.). Overall it took about 20 minutes,. I just checked the online case status but it hasn't been updated, and I was told to wait to be notified by mail if nothing changes online.

The officer asked these specific documents or she asked to show the ones that you brought ?

She asked if we had anything to give her in support of our relationship being bona fide, and said "for example, bank statements etc." Hope that helps :)

We have been waiting for an interview since September 2017. We were told at our infopass appointment yesterday that someone must have "dropped the ball" and forgot to schedule it. Hopefully we will hear something soon.

My wife arrived in Virginia from Philippines in June 2018 through K-1 Visa and filed AOS on October 2018 after getting married on September 2018. We are on day 122 and counting. Here is our timeline so far:

Petition Received: October 3, 2018

Bio metric appointment completion: October 10, 2018

Case ready for interview: November 8, 2018

EAD/AP: Pending

Interview: Pending

Green Card in hand: Pending

I am hoping and praying to hear from USCIS regarding our interview this month and our cases to be squared away by April 2019 or May 2019.  Norfolk Office is our local office as we live in Virginia Beach. Keep it coming Virginians! Keep posting your status to help us have hope for our case processing. It's been so long already!

I'm going to have my interview at Norfolk, though probably not very soon. I just wanted to ask about how far in advance you got a notice for your interview, and if there was any trouble with finding a doctor in the area. I'm also wondering what the medical exam cost - I'd be happy to discuss it over PM if that's more comfortable. Thanks!

All the best for those with upcoming interviews. :)

Hi, we had our interview last month. We got the notice about 5 weeks before the interview date. We are from Richmond and had plenty of options to choose from in terms of doctors. The medical exam was between 200-300 dollars (cannot remember exactly).

Hello everyone. Norfolk filer here with PD of Nov-13. So far I haven't heard anything and my status has been "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" since mid-December.

Any other Norfolk filers out there? If you're reading this, please join this forum to give others an idea for timescales. Does anyone know how long of a wait to expect for the Norfolk office these days?

Hey there! My local office is Norfolk too, NOA-1 October 15th, and last update “Fingerprint review was completed “ at the end of November and silence since that day... So looks like my case is still in NBC 😒

It’s actually a bit odd how few entries are here for the Norfolk office, because when I got to my biometrics appointment there was a huge line there... 🤷‍♀️

Anyways, so far we only have @Bianca89 with the interview date (good luck there girl ☺️) and she’s 2 months ahead! So if we’re as lucky as she is we’ll get our interviews in a couple of months too 😎

Thanks for the info. Looks like you are one month ahead of me - please let us all know when you get your interview notification. I'd think you will receive it some time in mid-May.

When I did my biometrics, there was barely anyone there, how strange.
