I divorced May 1st 2018. When shd I go and marry my fiancé in Ghana 🇬🇭 and file for him?

Anytime. Assuming the state you live in doesn't have a waiting period to get remarried after divorce. If it does it will not recognize your marriage no matter where it was if it is not after the waiting period has passed.

Also keep in mind Ghana is a high fraud country. You should set your country so others from Ghana can give you advice and support. One in person meeting is the requirement but in a high fraud country you should at least have two visits or more. Also make sure to front load your petition with as much proof of bonafide relationship as possible.

Thank you all. So the back story is I married my ex husband who is in the navy since 2007. We were married for 7yrs and some months. We divorced in May 2018 and I got my citizenship through him. I am from Ghana and my ex husband too. My current boyfriend is also Ghanaian.

People like the OP are the ones making Ghana a high fraud country.

I read everything you posted and yes I knew you were married for that long before I made my statement. The fast rebound is just that.. too fast considering the country your boyfriend is from. You are opening yourself up to much scrutiny if you marry too early from your divorce. So don’t take my statement of mentioning nationality the way wrong way. The CO will not care about how long you’ve been married to your ex. It’s how long you know and how soon you marry your new husband when the time comes.

If you read everything carefully, u wld hv known that I never said I was going to marry anytime soon. That was the purpose of my post initially. It’s an advice that I wanted pple to give me on the time I can marry. I didn’t say I was going to marry this year. Besides your friend didn’t hv to say that pple like me are the ones that make Ghana a high fraud country. It was unnecessary
