Hello NilsaNAnil,

The embassy requested my wife to come for renewing  oath  last week. As part of renewing oath, we had to resubmit form DS260. While there,  they took her fingerprints. They also gave her passport back and instructed her to submit her passport to the clinic when she goes in for her medical exam in mid June. I am not sure how much longer it will take after the medical exam to issue the visa or if there are any other steps. My wife and I are very happy that our case is moving forward.

I’ll post an update after her medical exam.

Although time in AP is different for every case, but our case, and several others that I am aware of, took about 17 months before there was any movement. My wife’s case technically is still under AP pending her medical exam.

Wish you best of luck! Hope you will hear something soon InshAllah!

Hi Ali, first of all a big congratulations on your wife's visa. I had a question for you because my husband has been on a very long AP as well and he was requested to do a medical once again on December 9th (like your wife's his 1st one had expired) and I was able to get him an appointment for December 14th. We have not heard back anything since then but his case keep getting an update on the CEAC look up. Did you get a request to resubmit DS-260 or you did it yourself? Please let me know as I do not want my husband's second medical to expire as well.

Hi Mursal,

This is good new that your husband is getting the request to do the medical exam again. This may mean that the AP process is coming to a close. Even thought the CEAC was showing AP for my wife, We received an email from the Embassy that the AP process is almost complete and had requested my wife to schedule her medical exam. They had copied the clinic in their email as well. Soon after that they sent separate email requesting her to come for a re-oath ceremony. In that email they asked her to complete the DS-260 again. When you get to that point, all of your information should be there and there is no additional fees and you log in with the same information as before. There is one place in form DS-260 where it asks if your husband has been refused visa before. For my wife, we said "yes" that she was refused visa. But in the comments section we put the refusal reason as "Current administrative Processing". I think everything else should be pretty much the same. When you get to that point, carefully review all the entries and resubmit.

This is a very painful process and I am glad that there is movement on your case. You will get the new soon inshallah!

Good luck to you both,

Ali H

Hi Ali, thank you for the information I appreciate it. I am very anxious because it has been almost 2 months since he gave his medical so hopefully we will hear back soon. I do see in CEAC that his case gets updates every other day or so but we haven't heard back since the medical. Inshallah we hear something soon, once again congratulations to you and your wife.

Hi Ali, one more question sorry I want to make sure I do everything right since we have been waiting for this paperwork for almost 3 years now. What is the re-oath ceremony? Is it a ceremony for his oath or another interview where they will ask him questions?

Hi, this is so nice hearing that both your cases have gone forward. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case for me. Mursal, my husbands case has been almost 3 years now and almost 18 months since his interview but he hasn’t been asked to redo a medical exam or any updates yet. As for the rematch ceremony i’ve seen on facebook groups that that usually means they will issue the visa after and hopefully that’s the case with you as well.
