Yep, what people think and actually sent are 2 different things

Yes but those things fulfill the K1 requirement as it petitions for a fiance, not someone you already live with. There are many on this site who have only met face to face briefly before getting a K1 let alone living in the same country for an extended period of time.

I understand that, but the object of the game is to provide solid quality proof in the petition, that is what we are getting at,  not just minimal proof

You don't have to live together to get a K1 visa. Having met once in person is the only requirement.

I know, I went through the K1 as well. But you didn't even prove that. You only proved that both of you happened to be in England at the same time. What types of pictures did you send since those were apparently not sufficient either?

What were the evidence of having met? College degrees does not prove you have met or have a relationship. Being in the same proximity of another person doesn't prove a relationship.

Were the photos you provided of you two together?

We sent photos together from my graduation ceremony with my mom there, photos traveling to meet his family in Turkey, photos with mutual friends, photos hiking together, just selfie's we'd taken over a coffee. Probably like 20 in total all labeled with dates. How is providing photos together, a letter about how we met, passport stamps that we were in the same place not enough information? I think that is pretty standard from what I've seen on VJ. And we got a RFE saying it was not sufficient. We then resent with a table of contents at the front and letters from my parents and a mutual friend about our relationship and it was accepted....

I don't get what else you think should have been included.

We had like 20 photos together and labels on them, as well as printed out social media posts with photos of being together.

I never said that having a degree meant that I was with someone. But proving you crossed paths, spent time together, have mutual friends, take photos together, have met each other's family is evidence.

Yep had all of those. Tickets to and from england for both of us as well as passport stamps upon arrival and student visas. Tickets to and from our visit to see his family in Turkey as well as passport stamps for that visit too. And his ticket and passport stamp to come see me in the US.

Then I think you will be ok. If possible, respond to the RFE with more evidence if you can.

To answer your previous question about how this would work out with the new policy, I don't think it would lead to a straight denial. I think you would still get an RFE. There are people who only send in the I-129 document with no evidence at all. Those are the ones immigration is trying to curb.

Only thing I can think of was it was clearly marked for the uscis adjudicator to understand, remember they look at who knows how many petitions a day, remember you have to section it out for them and label everything. Almost like a file, lay your timeline out for them, make it easy to understand.

imaging if you were in there shoes and a bunch of evidence came with a petition andyou had to sort thru it all.

Only my thoughts......

Well it was a while ago, we are past AOS now :) We sent RFE with more explanation and evidence.

I really hope that you're right with that though, for others peoples' sake. I am already worried about GC renewals for my husband in the future. A RFE is one thing, something that I can deal with, but a denial would be devastating!

The main thing I would be concerned with is the rejection of petitions based on an error by the adjudicator/USCIS staff.

Specifically, I am referring to those number of cases which received an RFE for something that was already provided, for example, there were people receiving an RFE for passport photos which were already included in the original file. I have seen this happen a significant number of times already, where I have a legitimate concern that a material number of people would be incorrectly rejected.

I just counted 6 threads on this so far.

I do wonder what is more egregious:

a) 6 threads on a topic

b) 6 posts in a topic saying that there are already 6 threads about it

I suppose A, but it is close :o
