Yeah research facts first directly from the main source before saying  like that. This is how stupid rumors that freak so many people out get started. Research first then speak.

I'm good up to 1000% of the poverty level, could maybe even swing 2000% if I include my assets, let them jack it up, I'm in it to win it!!!! It needs to be a higher level in my opinion. I mean 20,575 is the 125% mark for 2018 for 2 people. Even living on Ramen noodles and in a cardboard box ( In a nice area), it would be hard to swing. Should be around 32k to 35k minimum for 2 people. And I have lived on only 20k a year, and don't wish that on anyone. It's doable, but it's not pretty.

This is so true. Especially for K-1. If you are going to be supporting someone who can't work for 6 months you probably need to make more that 8 dollars an hour.

On June 28, 2018, the USCIS issued a new policy that would place anyone who applied for a green card but got denied into deportation proceedings.

On July 13, 2018, the USCIS issued a second new policy memo that allows immigration officials denies any application without enough or the "right" evidence/documents when the applicant first applies for the green card. No Request for Initial Evidence or Evidence and Intent of Denial will be sent before an application is denied.

Now they are drafting a policy that demands an intending immigrant to make at least 250% of 2018 HHS Poverty Guidelines Standard and this policy allows immigration officers to arbitrarily deny anyone's green card application on any ground they.

My interpretation of these three policies is : illegals and legals alike, we, the government and the people of the United States of America, want you to get the hell out of our country. And we are doing it in a "legal" way. off. Period.

Please share your thoughts with me please. Thank you!

I'd feel sorry for you but other countries have much tougher resident/immigration rules than ours does.

Nobody who is in the US legally gets deported.   Many paths of status adjustment appear to be closing and as far as I am concerned when anyone's legal status ends they should be packing to return home anyway.

This would be in line with other Western nations and their immigration policies.  People making poverty wages should stop importing spouses.

In fact, the Danish one used to (or might still) require a certain number of square meters per person in your household to prevent immigrant overcrowding.

First of all, Trump is assembling a deportation force against naturalized American citizens and green card holders. It's called "denaturalization task force." https://www.vox.com/2018/7/18/17561538/denaturalization-citizenship-task-force-janus

Second, I am assuming you are talking about your home country Saudi Arabia that has tougher immigration laws? Canada, Australia, and New Zealand all have a grading system for well educated people to immigrate there. Those systems are much less arbitrary than the one the United States currently has.

Speaking from someone who has been looking at the process to immigrate to Australia with my Australian husband. The immigration process is quite a bit more expensive then it is here. I also have the option of working under my profession and receiving a work permit visa, not related to marriage. To have my degree evaluated is a couple of thousand dollars in order to start ( which we have just began) the "merit based" process through the professional organization and can take up to a year, and that is if it is accepted. If not accepted I would have to pay another couple of thousand to sit for their Entry Level Exams to practice. Each system is different.. I don't think you can say one is easier than another.

I agree that low-income people should stop bringing more family members in but there are many immigrants who have good-paying jobs and will not become public charge. Not all immigrants are just poor and dirty rats. A lot of students and scholars are highly educated and make more than $60,000 annually, if they become spouses of U.S. citizens, does that make them unworthy and illiterate immigrants?

If you have the patience and heart to re-read my response to you, I did not use the word easy. I said less arbitrary at the first glance.

Not everyone who has the potential to make 60k can be let into our country, because frankly, that would be near anyone who put some effort in.

And what I am saying is costs a lot more money to immigrate to Australia, making it more restrictive even through the "merit" based system.

Now it makes a lot more sense. Thank you for the clarification.

I feel sorry for you because apparently you work for the CIA or the FBI. You are apparently pro-Trump and do not sound like an intending immigrant. Why on earth are you on this site anyway? The only reason I think of is that you work for the U.S. Intel.

I do work for the U.S. and I have been around here and around the world awhile. Why can't I be on this site if I am pro-Trump, do you think that Trump hates legal immigrants? This site helped me bring my wife here, AOS, ROC, and finally Naturalized. So you can stop that bs.

Apparently I read the actual statement and the facts of memos/policy changes that are released instead of just following along some clickbait propaganda piece.
