Hi,

I will be submitting my N-400 Application for Naturalization  ONLINE, I'm a permanent resident (green card holder) for at least 3 years (married to U.S. citizen). What documents should I submit online? I have seen checklists but very few talk about applying online.

The USCIS check list (N400 application page https://www.uscis.gov/n-400)  is very short it says: a) photocopy of green card, b) credit card/check payment, c) birth certificate of spouse, d) marriage certificate and e) documents referring to you and your spouse: a. tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates. OR b. IRS certified copies of the income tax forms that you both files for the past 3 years. OR c. an IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years.

Is that it? Is it ok to just submit as evidence IRS transcripts? What is your experience?

Thanks!

In other words should I also submit extensive documents I send for I-751 and adjustment of status? I forgot to mention that my I-751 is still pending (July 2017 CSC filer).

The paperwork we submitted for my husband's naturalization was nothing close to what was required for AOS and ROC. From Section E in your post, the only things we included were the official IRS tax documents for the past three years.

It felt weird sending so little but he was sworn in as a US citizen after a wait of about a year so it was obviously enough. We applied via mail not online, but I think it would be the same.

Best wishes!

As you complete your online application, additional questions may pop up depending  on  your  responses. At the end of it, you will see a collapsible list of the documents that you will be required to upload and what file formats are acceptable.

You are not required to submit online right away. You can sign out of it any time and just sign back in when certain information or documents  become available. Keep the application "alive" within a 30 day period, otherwise you will lose all that you entered. To do that you just either need to sign in and revisit your answers, or upload a document that became available.

Hope this helps.

Hello, I'm sorry for bumping this old thread... I'm planning to apply for N-400  online this week and I wanna know if I should submit the plane tickets I've had when I've had my two weeks vacation outside the US last year. The requirements for n400 (on their site) only stated  "if you've taken any trip outside the US that lasted 6 months" yet I see posts where ppl include travel tickets too? Is this necessary? Appreciate any thoughts! Thanks!

It's not necessary. I think the only time I would is to add travels you and your spouse has done together if filing under 3 year rule. But even then not sure if it's necessary

Ah gotcha! Thanks that saves me a lot Of time rummaging my emails for those online tickets!

I believe ive already included our plane tickets me and my spouse had last yr when we filed for ROC. Do I resubmit the evidences I’ve submitted before? I know IRS docs is prob a must.
