We submitted our AOS with assets above and beyond the minimum required, but the consul sent us home with a 221g pink paper asking for an employment contract from my USC husband to show proof of domicile.

He hasn't lived in the US for years, he's a dual citizen who's lived in the Philippines for the past 9 years. It's not an option for him to fly there first.

My husband works in the entertainment industry, in a specialty that usually doesn't do long term contracts (project based). Can you guys suggest options? The consul specifically marked "job offer or employment contract" as a requirement in the pink form.

Sounds like he needs a job offer or employment contract.  If he cannot get that without traveling to the US "first" then that will either need to become an option or there will be no visa for you.

Does it mean though that the employment has to be connected to his industry or can he get any other job? (As long as he can get an offer) thanks for your help.

"A" job offer or "An" employment contract.

Needs to be "legitimate" and "believable".  No what I mean?

What are his plans regarding employment when you both move here? Has he not even started to network with agencies or agents yet? If he was thinking he could just arrive here with you and then start looking for work, immigration doesn’t work like that.

if he can't find job ,I believe showing emails correspondences that he's been trying to do so would be enough.

If that were true, they would not have been specific as to what they wanted to see.

it's actually true, but I ain't sure if they need a job for financial matter or domicile. either way, showing attempts to reestablish domicile is enough as long as the us citizen can't move to the states before the spouse.

We are discussing a specific case, where the Consular Officer gave a specific requirement.
