I am pretty sure he will need to bring his birth certificate and his marriage certificate to the USC petitioner's mother.

Is this consular processing or adjustment of status? Was the I-130 petition approved in the U.S. or abroad?

If consular processing for an immigrant visa, I am particularly interested if they require him to bring the USC petitioner's birth certificate, which was submitted to USCIS with the petition, to again documentarily prove the parent-child relationship needed for IR5/IR0 classification.

I don't know at all if they want to see the other children's birth certificates, since they can't immigrate with him. There are no derivative visas or statuses for immediate relatives of USC.

Please let us know here how the interview goes and what documents they actual take.

Oh well, thanks anyway.

Does anyone else know if the petitioner's original birth certificate is needed at the embassy for the immediate relative parent IR5 visa interview?

For your case, since it is adjustment to IR0 status, I'm pretty sure they will want both the petitioner's and beneficiary's birth certificate, as well as I-864 with 2006 tax return/transcript and proof of sponsor's income. And of course all the other standard adjustment stuff like the medical exam and EAD.

Still would be helpful if you'd post how the interview goes and what they actually ask for.
