Anyway back to the topic I think what today showed was how important this Mueller probe is. It has become EVEN more important than it ever has. Don't leave any stone unturned, go down every possible avenue to see where it leads. It could well be THE most critical junction in American history.

Working at the behest of a Russian government official and with help from an unidentified American political operative, the woman, Mariia Butina, worked to infiltrate American organizations as a way to secretly advance Russian interests, prosecutors said.

As part of that effort, she tried to establish “back channel” lines of communication with American politicians, according to court records. “These lines could be used by the Russian Federation to penetrate the U.S. national decision-making apparatus to advance the agenda of the Russian Federation,” an F.B.I. agent wrote in court documents.

   Putin has said this before. Hillary was critical of Russian "democracy" and supported sanctions over Crimea, while Trump talked about a reduction of sanctions and normalization of relations. Everything Trump has done over the past week has devalued the United States standing in the world and enriched Russia's standing. Putin probably can't believe his luck, he's seeing cracks starting to develop in the Western Allies.

It is a sad day for our country and we need Republicans to step up. The only ones showing a spine are those not facing election. If Hillary Clinton put on a disasterous performance like what we saw  today there would be howls of trial by treason.  I don't know why or how but  Trump is a puppet, a Patsy and an appeaser who is throwing his intelligence resources under the bus and siding with a Tyrant and skilled spymaster

I think the outcome is important given our own track record of trying to influence foreign elections.  If all they were doing was some social media stuff and hacking, then how is that different from say China, or the DPRK or even Israel, or other EU countries.  Should this be a wider investigation?  Additionally, I am fine with the investigation into foreign influences, but I am getting tired of the Trump collusion narrative which based on the Rosenstein announced indictments was not present.
