reporters, report facts - facts can be researched/verified

pundits, give opinions based on their area of expertise. the credentials of a pundit can also be researched/verified.

Yes, all those "sourced" stories are facts.  Seems to me there are a lot of reporters basing stories on opinions of unnamed sources that cannot be researched or verified.

If even one person votes illegally, it diminishes the voting franchise of USCs.  Since no one checks and simply assumes an illegal will not vote, how would we ever know. It is called the head in the sand syndrome.

 

Sure there are folks that report verifiable facts and those stories usually appear in almost every news media outlet.  Then there are those stories attributed to unnamed sources where the reporters are not able to verify anything, but hey, it dovetails with their own political opinion, and they get an exclusive so what the heck.  I am not going to re-hash the fake news thread, but feel free to search for it as there are loads of examples.
