Hey everyone! My fiancé just got his approval and is coming in through Atlanta. I will be flying there to meet him but does anyone know if I can get to baggage claim in the international concourse or is that prohibited?

I actually dont know any airport where you can get into the baggage claim area, otherwise it would be pretty easy for people to steal bags and stuff. 

8/14/17 --- AOS sent I-485, I-765, I-131

8/16/17 --- AOS Packet received Chicago USCIS Day 0

8/21/17  --- Received email & text notification 

8/23/17  --- Received hard copy of NOA  

9/01/17  --- Biometrics letter notice for I-485 & I-765 & I-131  

9/11/17  --- Biometrics Appointment Done

10/17/17 - Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview

11/30/2017 - EAD/AP Approved
12/01/2017 - Card in Production
12/05/2017 - Received Approval Notice in the Mail
12/06//2017 - Card Mailed (Priority Mail) to Me
12/07/2017 - Card Received 

1/19/18  --- Interview Date 2/21

2/21/18  ---  Approved on the Spot

  • 1 hour after the interview received uscis mobile app alert
  • Status changed from "Interview is scheduled" to "New Card Is Being Produced

2/26/18  --- Received hard copy of NOA for the Green Card

2/26/18  --- USCIS Mobile Status changed to "Card was mailed to me"

2/28/18 --- Permanent Resident/Green Card received :jest:

No. You cannot get in there. After baggage claim there is still an officer of customs control. Even if you where to hang around the area and came on an international flight....they will still approach you if you take too long.

12/28/2018                Interview has been scheduled. Waiting for notification with date by snail mail

No, the international terminal F baggage area (which is where he'll be headed if ATL is his terminal destination) is a sterile area until after passengers pass through customs. But as long as he follows the crowd, there are few options to get lost as everything is obviously setup to corral everyone to CPB. They also have stewards at the lines checking passports and trying to make sure people are getting into the correct lines.

I live in Ohio and at CMH anyone can get to baggage claim. I figured it would be different because the whole concourse is pretty watched but I wasn’t sure

My local airport is accessible to anybody walking into the airport as well. It's a small airport, though (only 8 terminals, and all flights are just puddle jumpers to the bigger airports nearby).

I've entered the USA via Atlanta many times. The baggage reclaim is airside (you can't get to it unless arriving on an international flight).  I imagine this is the situation throughout the USA with international flights.

 

Why would you wan to get to the baggage reclaim? Let him get his bags, exit the closed area and then you see him in arrivals.
