I thought they were looking at content and relationship dev, but it occured to me now they may be looking for consistency more than actual details of what was written?

Is it better to find lovey dovey stuff or one screenshot/month over the period of the relationship?

We copied one or two chat screens a month over a period of the year we were apart.

Just show what you guys typically talk about. Do not over do it with stuffs like "I love you honey...No I love you more kiss kiss kiss" etc etc for 2 pages because it will looks more than suspicious.

When we did my K1 we included chat screenshots (2011) we included different conversations of what we did that day or plans we have for his upcoming trips to visit me in my home country. Normal stuffs. Nothing too private if you know what I mean. Nothing explicit.

Since we had at first an online "friendship/relationship" for 2 years , we tried to give them a glimpse of those 2 years of knowing each other and how we keep the relationship online, mixed with the stuffs from his visits in person obviously. The planning of the rental apartment, chats with the planning of our trips together. etc. I don't remember exactly how many pages of chat but it was about 5 or 6 pages.

I would not send 30 pages of chat because I doubt they will read it.

We have a lawyer and he told us 50 pages of communication....the communication should be taken A little from each month. You don’t have to add private conversation and anything you don’t want them to read you can cross out. But the idea is to show you communicate regularly.

tbh this is not a requirement for the I-129f, is something extra you would do, but in the official guideline it doesn't say anything about conversations and screenshots, but just proof that you met in person. I think the conversations etc will be looked only at the interview to make sure you are still in touch etc

I only attached 4 pages of screenshots of conversations between april and june this year (whatsapp would crash if I try to go back more) 1 page of conversation from December (new year) and some facebook tags and our relationship status there.

It's not required but in my opinion it doesn't hurt either.

Some embassies are very difficult and you need to show more evidence of a genuine relationship. I think those cases would really benefit from extra chatlogs.

In my opinion, what they want is to see that your relationship is real. So you're not just in it for the greencard. You're in a loving committed relationship. I think they also want to see you have thought things through, as its not just simply moving to the next village. We tried to show that in our chats.

We added chats where we talked about the differences between the Netherlands and United States. Chats where he introduced his children to me, way back when we met. Some where he talks about the 'joys' of being a parent when one of the kids screwed up to show that we talk about real life stuff too. We added chats between him and my mom, and between me and his mom and between me and his children. To show that our families are supportive of the relationship.

What we also did was try to pick the chats that we could tie in with real world provable things. Like when I was there and we went to visit Mesker zoo. We put the pictures of the zoo in with the petition, but also the family chat where me and my fiancé are sending those pictures to my mom to keep her updated.

They were about 10 pages in total, just a few strategic conversations.

We got approved without an RFE. Waiting (im)patiently for the package to arrive at the Amsterdam consulate.

We made screenshots of convos when we talk about wedding plans, also joint conversation we had with his family. Definitely don't send too much - someone mentioned 50 pages.. way too much ino.  I think we might have 10 pages each with 1 screenshot.

I understand the fear of making sure you get everything correct, but it's not mentioned anywhere that they want to see communication. if you look at both the form and the instructions for the form, the only "evidence" you are required to submit is evidence that you have both met within the last 2 years of submitting the petition.

it's up to you to decide what to submit in terms of evidence. if you feel you have a conversation or two to support this, then go ahead and submit it.

they want to verify that you have met in person, they cross reference the "how you met" question with the evidence you submit. make sure everything tallys up and you will be fine.

We added screen shots of just a few each month from our whatsapp but in addition I took a screenshot the detail of how long we were on call.   So they could see that we communicate hours each day on video in addition to the many text.   I think consistency is the key more than content.   Some CO's may read content some may not be bothered but if they see you communicate each day that's most important.

For anyone using Line App to make video calls which doesn’t give call logs you can export your chat history (gives you about 6 months at a time) which shows call duration too and copy and paste into an excel document that way you can edit and remove any “sensitive” chat and Show call logs.

Ill be sending in a much abbreviated version with samples for each month. Some days we don’t text but call for hours every day.

As noted above, the consul, depending on the embassy does like to see them or may not care. We submitted total of like 8 pages worth of screen shots showing a timeline during the processing. And yes, they do read the chats if they want to. My husband was asked "who is calling who this name in the texts" as we had our names saved as different things other than our regular names so he wanted to check but shows they do read them or at least scan through.
