Hey! My husband filed my case under f2a in June’17. Its been a year. But I’m curious about something else, there’s a cousin of my friend who got married 2 months ago with a Pakistani guy. They both are Pakistani. And she moved to USA within two months with her husband! How’s this possible? They moved permanently. And her husband is doctor! I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just want to know how this could be possible

You should have asked him how. ;) For all you know they could use tourist visa to immigrate. Maybe they already had a pending petition before.

It won't affect your situation so I wouldn't worry about it.

It's possible, as @Roel outlined, she migrated on a tourist visa (as is not uncommon for subcontinent nationals). Or they started a petition earlier without disclosing it to you, and got publicly married closer to the interview date. Not the way to do it!

Or it’s possible they had an employment-based green card petition in progress if he’s a doctor.

Or it’s possible it’s just a work based visa but they’re calling it permanent.

Or he already had a visa and she was follow to join

Or or or....whatever it is we don’t have enough info to know and anyway it’s not relevant to your case, because clearly whatever visa they have it’s one that the spouse gets along with the principal, which is different to yours

I was curious 🤷🏻‍♀️ just wanted to know 😒 as we are waiting since long time and I really wanted to find if I can get this urgent visa lol thanks though ❤️

Might be some kind of work visa. Don't be confused. Focus on your case.

Well your case cannot be speed up so relax. I130 for spouses of green card holders takes over 2 years to be approved.

So why don’t you ask them? How on earth are we supposed to know? They’re the ones who got the visa, after all. What we can tell you is that if it was a a work based visa then the spouse gets a visa at the same time and that could explain it. You are doing a different type of visa. If you got a work based visa you could also go much quicker.

You don’t have to go to the US to have someone petition for you....so don’t be confused.

i know people whose first entry to the US was on an immigrant or work visa after someone or a company petitioned them first
