N 400 with K2 son

  Still a ways off but I am curious, We can file for my wife at 3 years but how does that work for our son who came as K2 with us ?

if he is a resident and under 18 by the time your wife becomes a USC, then he will derive her citizenship,

 

if he is older than 18, he will have to take the exam, and file the N400 just like your wife and wait 5 years as a LPR

 

the 3 year rule is only for your wife, not your stepson

My situation is the same for my K2 step-son (currently 15yo). Besides his information in one section of the N-400 is there any other supporting info or paperwork that needs to be filled out?

What dates are on your green cards?

 

If he  acquired conditional resident status on the same day as you,  or within 90 days thereafter, then your son should be included  in Part 5. of Form I-751 in order to request that the condition on his status be removed as well.
