Hello all,

I entered the US on a K1 about a month ago and have been married almost 3 weeks. I am now preparing AOS paperwork. Under the what you should submit category it says “government issued identity card with photograph”. I have nothing from the US government except a Nexus which is not related to this. What do they mean and is it a problem that I don’t have anything like this? Thanks for any insight.

It does not have to be from US government.

Also while your k1 is valid and you have candian drivers license and canadina passport. You can easily go to dmv in CA with proof of CA residency and your drivers license process going. Once your k1 is expired, this becomes tougher.
