ESTA or not??

Hello there

My husband got approved last week and will pick his CR-1 visa up soon.

I was wondering if it's necessary to get ESTA for him?

I tried to fill it out for him but there's no option for Morocco (where he is from)??

I just want to make sure he is able to go to USA on his CR-1 visa with no problems.

He already is approved for CR1.......ESTA is issued under the Visa Waiver program which allows travelers to enter the US for 90 days without a US visa. So I don't believe applying for ESTA is necessary.

ESTA is not used in Morocco.  

 

He may need a schengen or a transit Visa if he has a layover in a certain country but he should otherwise be good to come straight to US.

where do I find a transit Visa??? 

His flight ticket shows one stop in Madrid Spain before going to USA.

Europe uses Schengen not transit. 

It looks like if he has a short layover only and doesnt leave the area/airport he should be fine.

If he's just going on to his connecting flight in Madrid, he doesn't need a transit visa. He would only need one if he were to leave the airport.

He doesn't need a Schengen visa for his connection at the airport, he just need to stay in the boarding area / GATES

20 hours.

oops :s looks like he will stay there for a long time   lot of people stay there (around gates area) waiting for their connection flight! let"s say 20 hours are nothing comparing to your waiting time for the visa!
