I'd like to #I'mStupid.

I think it is always difficult to believe that this stage is going to be easy as everyone says it is, however, going through it now. I now believe!!!

I just want to say wow what an experience to end the whole first part of the K-1 Visa process.

First of all would like to say the Embassy building is stunning.

Anyway, I arrived to the Embassy about 10.15-10.20am with an interview time of 11am. Had my passport and DS-160 checked but was told to wait outside as I was early. Went back at around 10.35am as advised and was let through to go through security.

You then walk up to the Southern Pavillion Consular Services reception where they take your passport and DS-160 and give you your ticket number attached to your DS-160.

Was then given instructions on how to get to the Visa floor which is to go up to the 1st floor and go left until the end of the room and left again to get to the Immigrant Visa section.

There were many people today or I think I would have been in and out within 15mins. Sat down and waited around 20mins and was called up to the first window. I was asked for my passport and DS-160. Followed by photos, birth certificate, ACRO (police certificate). Was asked if I had ever had a green card or a visa to which I replied no, only travelled on an ESTA. I was then asked to give my fingerprints. Was also asked if it was the first marriage for both of us, followed by when I would be going to the U.S. To which I said depending on if I get approved, as soon as possible but was advised that I have 6months from the date of the medical so up until the 29th Dec to make my entry into the U.S. This was then followed by the request for the affidavit of support with an employer's letter/payslip. As my fiance had started a new job just last month.

I waited then for around another 20mins, I was then called up to a window with a lady. I was asked to take an oath that any of the information I was providing was the truth, had to raise my right hand too. Proceeded further by scanning my left fingerprints and then was asked how I met my fiance, I had a sub question of where he lives in the U.S and then was told well everything looks good on our side, here are your original documents and you'll get your visa within 1-2 weeks!

It really is as easy as everyone makes it out to be, believe in the power of love and the fact you made it this far.

Everyone was so lovely too and I was not made to feel like a crook by any of the staff, which is what I think some of us end up feeling like, after being put through such rigorous amount of waiting during the whole process.

WOW Amazing!! CONGRATULATIONS! A weight I'm sure if lifted off of both of your shoulders! Only a few questions about how you met and where he lives?? My fiance has to mail all of those documentations in with packet 3 before he can schedule his interview so he won't have much paperwork to show besides basic ones and pictures :)How many pictures did you bring?

Well the photos I was asked for were just the 2 passport size ones of myself. However, I took a whole folder of evidence and a photo album with almost 100 pictures with me  Didn't need any of it, at all.

Nice! Yes my fiance is bringing around 30 pictures with him and I was going to print screen shots of Whatsapp conversations that I sent along with for the initial I-129 but I'm sure like you said they won't ask for much, did you have to show your fiance's birth certificate or only yours at the interview?

Only mine, and wow nice. I think it is dependent on the consulate and what evidence they require?

I haven't looked into Spain's one but I'm hoping you don't have to take much with you, but better to have something than not!

Your requirements may be totally different. This was a London review and the interview is painless. No relationship evidence is required. No tax return required. No hard questions asked. You need to read reviews of Madrid and plan accordingly http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Spain&cty=&dfilter=5

I am aware that all consulates are different, I have done my follow up as well with Madrid’s embassy in order to be prepared for what to expect.

So approved on Wednesday the 11th, status changed to AP on Monday 16th and then status changed to issued on the 17th. From then on I got an email on Thursday 19th to say it was being sent to the courier (I chose to collect from the London office) so when tracking it told me I could collect it the very next morning :)!
