Hey so not sure what I need to do, if anything. In November I was initially going to do consular visa processing for I-130 But decided that would take too long so 1 month after we submitted it, we submitted the AOS i-485 concurrent filing. That all went well and I got my green card a few weeks ago. I just got an email my initial application was forwarded to the NVC for processing. Well obviously don’t need to do that anymore. What should I do? Call them, ignore the email. Would I have any trouble down the line for maybe an abandoned application? Just kind of a weird situation. They don’t seem to be communicating very well.

10/30/2017 | I-130 Package sent via UPS to USCIS. Was initially going to do consular processing.

11/06/2017 | NOA1 Priority Date Nov 6, 2017

12/06/2017 | AOS package sent (EAD, and AP as well). I decided to do concurrent filing/ AOS instead of consular processing. The lawyer I consulted scared me initially about AOS and that concurrent is more a sure thing, but I already work here in US under TN and did not enter with intent to marry.

12/11/2017 | AOS package received and received NOA1 for them all about a week later

12/30/2017 | Biometrics Appointment letter received

01/08/2018 | Biometrics Appointment

01/12/2018 | RFE Received. (I forgot to have my husband sign the affidavit of support. Seriously OMG. I looked everything over 20 times.) Mailed the signed page back 01/13/2018.

01/25//2018 | RFE received. Case update says they will now continue reviewing my case. I was worried I would be sent to back of the line because of the RFE, but it didnt because 6 days later it changed to ready to interview!

01/31/2018 | Online- "case is ready to be scheduled!" Yipee!

02/10/2018 Online case update Interview date May 1!!!!

Uhm.. did you submit another I-130? Did you submit a copy of your I-130 NOA1 with the I-485?  So weird!

Call the NVC and let them know you already have a green card.  Not sure how you decided something is taking too long 1 month after filing but I guess this was a "spontaneous" decision to stay in the USA during a visit...

Nope definitely didnt submit another 1-130.  Was going to do consular processing because its the safest route, but I am/ was in the US on a TN visa anyway.  I decided I should be perfectly fine to file for AOS so I submitted that 1 month later with a letter stating I was changing to concurrent filing of AOS. I knew consular processing was going to take a while which is why I changed my mind. Did that originally because the lawyer said AOS can cause problems at times and consular processing is the safest way to go.

Interesting that your I-130 didnt get joined with your I-485!
