I am in Panama visiting my wife. We were going over I-130 paperwork that I filed. I noticed that on her driver's license there is a 2nd last name. So I asked about this. She explained how there last names work in South America. Well at least in Venezuela and Panama.

Example: Sarah Michelle Smith Jones

I had no idea so when submitting our paperwork I only use the last name I knew and is on most of the paperwork from the US. That is her Fathers last name. However I did not put both last names on any part.

Example: Sarah Michelle Smith

So my question is this going to be an issue? I'm worried it will but don't know if it is even possible to fix until we get an RFE or worse it is rejected all together.

Also we were married in Panama and so instead of just my last name they had her previous names and added mine on her Panama ID card. That part completely confuses me as normally (as I am told) they drop the others last name and add the husbands last name.

Example: Sarah Michelle Smith Jones de Miller

It would not surprise me if they (the Panamanian offices) messed it up. As they messed up our marriage paperwork about 7 times (not even a joke) they day we were getting married. I even had to take a trip back to sign 2 other forms that they messed up again 2 times that trip. It is ridiculous how bad they are at paperwork. It took almost 2 months to get our marriage certificate. We even had to pay off some people to get it that quick. I wrote a letter about this in our

I-130 package because all of our pictures were in late April and our certificate has our marriage date in May when I went back to sign the paperwork again.

Sorry for the long post just wanted to include as much info I could.
