I would like to know how it turned out for the op?

I'm in a similar situation. I just started a new job that pays well above my required income along with my self employment but I only have one paystub to show for this job. I have been working prior to changing jobs, I only changed because there was a big pay increase.

Will one paystub be good enough for this situation?

Hello,

Yes Sir, 1 pay stub will be enough but I would recommend if you can provide an additional proof of income letter with pay stub that will be great. I did that and case was approved in 3 days. Please make sure you attach last three year IRS Transcripts and if you don't have those, provide an additional letter of explanation why you can't provide last three year IRS transcripts. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Good Luck with your case:)

ok, I was just reading about it as well, but my brother so far co-sponsor me and my mom, we both are here for 3 years now. if he co-sponsor my husband he has to meet the minimum household requirement of family of 4, which is 31K+, and including him, me, mom and husband, poverty guideline goes upto 31K, he doesn't make more than 25K+, he is self employed, he can show more but it's just another hassle. If u think that's not an issue, then i'll have him co-sponsor my husband

I hope he is not deliberately under-reporting his income.

We were denied! They used my last year's tax return to say I didn't make enough! Did they go based off your current income or previous tax returns? My previous tax returns showed $12k less than what I needed...

What are your circumstances? Are you self-employed/an independent contractor or do you get W-2s?

I'm resubmitting more paperwork but yes. I'm self employed and all of this year I've also worked a regular paying job. My income is already over my required income, I think it was just a misunderstanding...

There's the likely issue then. The income for a self-employed individual is based on their tax return. Money earned in-year is just revenue until claimed on the taxes.

Showing sufficient evidence from the "regular paying job" that meets the income requirements should suffice. Note that the self-employment income from 2018 won't be considered yet, as noted above.

Hmm. Well I'm $3k shy of what my annual income needs to be if they go based off my last year's income tax and what I've earned year to date this year. I have a job that pays about $3500 a month and with 3.5 months to go I'm hoping they will be satisfied with that. If not I may just have to submit my income next year after I file taxes then, I'm expecting to make about $20k more than needed after 2018 tax season...

Question for example insurance agents make 1099 (they are considered self-employe/contractors) and if he's way past the poverty guideline they can decline that and would want something shown as part of W2?

They should not care whether the income is from a "regular" W-2-earning job or self-employment. It's usually just easier for a W-2 earner to demonstrate current income (i.e. paystubs).

The CO makes the call based on the totality of the circumstances.
