Hi guys

Im from Ethiopia and i got selected for DV 2019 and my Cse Number is 2019AF27XXX, i have some questions.

1, it looks like my case number is high so does that mean i have low chances of getting an interview.

2, I Unlocked my DS 260 after 3 days of submitting the first form and submitted it right away after doing some revisions. does this decrease my chances?

3, is it absolutely neccesary to fill out I-134 Affidavit of Support?

1. It’s not a particularly high number for AF

2. No impact.

3. No

For third question, you better check with Embassy. Give them a call and see, if you really need the Affidavit of Support.

The US Emabassy in Colombo said it is needed and it seems it all depends on the embassy.

It is dependent on embassy, most of them don’t require it

Many east African countries have a “host” system where there’s a network - someone knows someone in the US - who helps look after new arrivals. This often takes the place of any AOS, but in any case with or without that it’s quite rare to be asked for it in most African consulates. Of course OP can check with embassy to be sure.

I found a pdf file from Travel.state.gov for instructions specifically for Us-Embassy in Addis. turns out i don't need to fill AOS. but i think i'll just call the embassy and check to be completely sure. Again thanks for your help guys!
