Mostly they don't act tough on countries like The Netherlands, we're not fraud sensitive. Have fun in the States!

Everyone please don't worry as much. Realistically unless you have previous immigration history issues or might be from a red flag country there won't be an issue. I travelled backwards and forwards 6 times in the course of a year (from UK to US) whilst going through immigration proceedings, and before we married numerous times. Always stay honest feel free to take evidence of ties to home. My questioning ranged from 4 to 5 basic things to nothing at all! I know it's a worry as you never know who your going to get just be honest and breathe!

Mike

Great advice.

Not sure if I'll run into issues, last time I tried (prior to filing our K1) I got denied entry for saying I was visiting a friend, I got sent home with a form saying bring these ties next time. Not sure if that's considered being red flagged.

Hi, everyone

I am currently a registered companion (I fly stand-by with my fiancé' benefits) and therefore my flights are technically changeable/refundable.

I don't want to book an actual flight out of risk I would be denied, might as well use the registered companion benefits.

Do you think they'll look down upon it, if I explain the situation?

I'm moving to a new city in my home country and hope to be able to fly.

I got denied entry before and have a paper that says I have to show it next time I try to get over. It has a list of ties that I could bring...

The ties I'm bringing are ...

- rent receipts, lease agreements

- mail to my new Canadian address, billed to my name

- flight itinerary

- fiance's full contact information

- letter from care workers for the mentally ill/elderly family members I support/take care of

- letter of occasional work employment (babysitting on-call)

- part-time letter of employment (I hope!)

Really hoping I can make it over for a few weeks! :-)

Why is your fiance's contact information a tie to home? I can't see what that matters. Also, all the other ties don't really make much sense since you are about to cut them loose and move for good when your K-1 is approved. Who will take care of the elderly relatives then?

Proof of a return ticket is all I have ever been asked for. Nothing else carries any weight since I have already shown immigration intent with the I-130.

Hmm, they had fiance's contact info on the form as a good tie, so I thought I'd include it.

They asked me his contact info when I was brought in for further questioning when I was denied.

On the form itself it says, "Strong ties to Canada". If what I've provided doesn't seem sufficient, what does?

Do you have NOA1, then take it with you + your flight itinerary and a statement from your boss that you'll be expected back at work. That's all you're going to need if they stop you.

A return ticket isn't really proof at all that you'll return home - most of us bought return tickets even when we moved for good (since bizarrely a return is normally cheaper than a one way).

A K1 does show that you have immigrant intent, but it also shows that you're doing it the correct way, rather than just turning up and overstaying, or getting married on a tourist visa. So while my K1 was pending I always brought my big file of all the K1 process with me... if I got any problems at immigration I could show them how much time and money I'd already spent on doing things properly. Why would I overstay or get married and then wait a year for AoS when I was so close to a K1?

Letters from employers, leases, car ownership documents etc don't prove you won't emigrate eventually but they tend to suggest that you're going back home after the present trip. I recall also bringing details of a flight I had to Portugal after my US trip ended - it would be persuasive that I intended to return home after my US trip if I already had flights booked for a trip to Portugal. On a separate visit I brought details of flights I had booked to France and Italy for work.

Hi everyone! My fiancé was in the US for 9 months on an H2B visa during 2015 and returned to the UK in December (on time before his visa expired). We are currently in the K1 process and he plans to come for 2 months over the summer on an ESTA. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I am worried that the fact that he lived here before and is staying for such a long time will raise some red flags. He will be bringing our NOA1 as well as a letter from his employer that will state when he will be expected back to work and his return ticket of course. Unfortunately he does not have any kind of lease because he lives with his family. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

So, excluding criminal or fraudulent activity...has anyone run into issues with being denied entry while attempting to visit while their K1 is in progress? I haven't heard of such a thing (especially seeing all of the success stories on here), yet my attorney tells me it's not a wise move. During the interview it seems relatively common of the officer to ask if you have had any issues getting into the USA, and of course if I was denied I would have to be honest. But other than that it's never affected anyone's case negatively?

News to me, first one to mention that as a regular question.

Hello everyone. I have a question about this same topic and im pretty sure this has already been answered. I hope you dont get annoyed. But i just one to have a quick question.

We are currently applying for our I-129F, as you can see on my timeline we're still waiting for the NOA2. My fiance lives in FL and I live in Philippines. I read some of the latest post here that you have to have evidence of your return (like employers letter and such) but apparently I have no job right now coz last year I was pregnant but i had stillbirth. Since then we havent seen each other for more than a year now.

So I am renting a place here in Philippines (currently in contract) and I have a pet.

My question is:

Is it possible that i Can Visit my fiancé?

What are the requirements?

Is it hard to apply a visitor visa from Ph to US?

Do I have to have a show money?

I just have a thought of maybe I can visit him if its possible bit if not then we'll just have to wait until we finished this whole process. I hope anyone here who had experience like mine. We missed each other so much.

Thank you so much!

Hi, everyone

I'm wondering if I'll run into an issue trying to get over to Mexico if I was denied entry in the USA before (nothing major). I am flying through the USA, but in-transit.

Thanks.

Depends on the officer you run into that day.

Probably matters why you were refused and whether that is still relevant.
