Okay so I'm back to pester you guys again. I've been Googling for hours but haven't really found a close answer.

My last trip was such a success we're already trying to plan another. I ended up staying for 37 days last time. Now we'd really like to be together for our anniversary (15th July), so I'd like to fly out on the 13th July. This would leave a 54 day gap between me leaving and re-entering. Is that generally long enough or will I be pushing my luck? Has anyone else left a similar gap, if so what was the outcome?

I'll have all the ties that I brought with me last time.

- Return Flight
- Travel Insurance matching flight dates

- Photocopy of Car Registration Docs
- Certificate of Car Insurance
- Phone Contract
- Copy of NOA1

And then printouts of jobs I've applied for again. And a letter for a dentist appointment in August.

So my main question here is, I stayed for 37 days, left for 54 days. If I got a return ticket for say 2 weeks, I'd stand a fairly good chance of getting in right?

Just wanted to say this thread is great! The thought that I would not be allowed to enter hadn't even crossed my mind... I saw the "yes, you can visit!" title and literally thought "well, of course I can!" *lol*

So I returned from my trip two weeks ago and wanted to share my experience.

First, when my fiance came here, he had a layover in Detroit, and said that he had to answer several questions, was pulled aside for further questioning, and had his carry-on luggage searched. He did not have any of the documents mentioned here, because this was before we found this site, but this wasn't a problem. It took about 45 minutes and he was let through.

Now, my trip:

I was flying from Chicago (US) to Manchester (UK).

I brought with me a copy of my lease agreement, a letter from my employer, and also a copy of the NOA1 showing that we were applying for him to move to the US.

I arrived in Manchester, extremely tired (I don't sleep on planes) but the customs person was very friendly.

She asked me what the purpose of my visit was, and I wanted to answer very honestly, so I said "to visit my fiance and see where he lives before he moves to the US".

She asked when he was moving to the US. I shrugged and offered: "Whenever the government decides to give us a visa?"

This was followed by questions of how long we had been together, some more details about our trips back and forth to visit one another, when was the last time we saw each other, and so forth.

She then asked if I had a return ticket. I panicked... no, I didn't, because I print my tickets at the airport just before my flight. Then I remembered that I had a copy of my itinerary, and she accepted that (after a moment of confusion because we list dates differently between the two countries).

And that was it. She stamped my passport and let me through. It took about 5-10 minutes, and I didn't even have to show the documents I brought.

So, I would say, be honest, be prepared... and have your itinerary printed out ;)

Most of us are going through this process with no legal aid, so yeah, you can do it without help from a lawyer! In fact, from what I'm reading, lawyers just seem to mess things up, so you may be better off doing it yourself anyways.

Read the instructions here:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

They're very detailed and helpful. Just follow them step-by-step and you should be fine. Also, make sure to read the instructions that come with the I129F. Read these two or three times to make sure you didn't miss anything (I found it helpful to take the I-129F instructions, right away cross off the things that don't apply to you - which will probably be lots of things - and check off the remaining items as you complete them).

The US citizen will probably end up doing most of the work during this part of the process; since he's a truck driver, that might be a bit tricky as it does take a bit of time to gather everything you need. It is very good that he visited you, as you will need to prove that the two of you have met in person within the past two years.

It looks daunting, but once you get going, you'll find it's pretty easy. If you have any questions, there's a search box towards the top of the screen. Try looking there first... someone probably had the same question as you at some point. If that still doesn't answer your question, feel free to ask in the forums. That's what we're here for :)

Good luck!

Hello everyone! I just want to feel out some opinions for visiting.

We received our NOA2 on May 16th (earlier than we expected as CSC was dead when we first applied). We already have a vacation (with my family) booked for August 6th through the 18th here. We're going to Disney World with my family for the vacation. We are planning on requesting an interview date for the 19th of August or after, obviously.

Anyway, does anyone have experience with this through Orlando? He quit his job to prepare for the move, owns a house (so no mortgage), but will have all of his bank statements. Additionally, I'll send him all the stuff for the interview so he'll have the NOA1 and NOA2, as well as letters from the embassy and potentially an interview date by that time. Even more, he'll have copies of our vacation info (6th through the 16th at Disney and 17th at a hotel near Universal) and a return ticket.

Any advice or just simple reassurance? I'm much more stressed about it than he is, to be honest.

Omg sweetie! I LOVE ORLANDO!

I work for disney and met my honney there so i go there A LOT and the POE is fine... the you say WERE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD and u show that u have a hotel n flight back etc... ur in! Have fun and say hello to my boss for me (the mouse himself) :)

Okay so I've got what is probably an easily answered question.

On my last visit I got the usual stamp in my passport to say I was admitted for 90 days. 13th April - 12th July. As I mentioned before I left 20th May.

I'm now hoping to re-enter on the 2nd July. Does this cross-over matter? I'm assuming they will have record of when I entered and left before. Is that correct?

No, the cross over doesn't matter. Your 90 days resets as long as you leave for a non-contiguous country.

I visited on 3 April 2012 for 14 days, so my passport was stamped to leave by 1 July. However, I went back to the US on 31 May for 6 days and my passport was stamped for 90 days from 31 May.

Apparently we cannot visit. She renewed her B2 once, so we tried to do it again, but they made her come for an interview to Saint Petersburg, Russia. During the interview they were surprised that her last visit to US was for 3.5 months. They refused the visa and the reasoning was that she submitted paperwork for K-1 which means she wants to immigrate to the US. She had copies of all I-129F paperwork and NOA1, but immigration officer wasn't interested. When officer asked - why my fiance doesn't just want to wait for K-1 interview, she said that we really miss each other and would like to spend a month together. Officer sneered and didn't say anything... I guess this poor officer has never experienced feelings for another person...

Which sucks for us... this is a very sad day =(

Hello Guys,

I was planing to visit my fiancee in Ukraine in June, but I just got a new job and cannot take any time off until November :( We haven't seen each other in 3 months now and it's very hard.

We have filed for I129-F a month ago and are waiting for NOA2 now, I would like her to come visit me.

Does anyone know the exact steps we should take to file for a visitor visa?

Should I write an invitation letter for her?

Do you think we have a chance to see each other?

She is 19 years old, she is attending a university in Ukraine, and studying remotely at another one too(she just needs to show up for exams twice a year). She can also show her apartment rental agreement for September, proving an intent to return.

Could that be enough to show strong ties to the homeland? What else should she bring?

I really want to try to get the best chance on getting this visa.

Sorry to disappoint you, but probably not enough. There are a bunch of variables that are all against her:

She has an I129-F pending.

She is very young.

Does she have a job? If not, then that's another strike against her.

You can try, the worst thing that can happen is that they deny her the visa and you lose $160. It should not affect the K1 process either way.

Hey everyone. Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Renato. My fiancé, Ana, is from Brazil. She has been here twice already this year. The most recent, we went together on vacation to Portugal and came back intro the US together. Unfortunately, the CBP officer escorted her for a a secondary interview, possibly because I stated that she was my girlfriend. Although they let her into the country, I'm a little worried that they may not let her in next time. I am currently in the process of filing for a K1 visa. I will be mailing my application on Monday actually. I would like for her to come for her vacation once her semester is over. She is currently enrolled full time in school, but does not have a job, own a house, or a car. It seems to me that her only form of proof that she has to go back home would be that she is a full-time student. If she were to come her at the end of June, it would be a little less than two months since her last visit. Unfortunately, she won't be able to come until December is she doesn't come now and I'll be starting a new job Monday so I can't fly down for quite some time. I'd like to get your opinions on whether it would be a good or bad idea to have her come. Also, if they were to deny her entry into the USA, would this negatively impact our K1 process? Thank you all for you help.
